Ads were yesterday!
Description
Ever been annoyed by all those ads and banners on the internet
that often take longer to download than everything else on the
page? Install Adblock Plus now and get rid of them.
Since Songbird lacks a context menu, you cannot block the ads
easily like in Firefox. Consequently, it is recommended to add some
subscription like EasyList and just let it do the work
automatically.

This is the most useful extension ever
Now Songbird is well on it's way to being the firefox of media players! :D
do NOT use AdBlock. It blocks the servers for the pong and screws up the metrics, thereby flagging the metrics as failed, and so component loading is flagged as failed. As a consequence, mp3s and flac do not play at all. I also deleted the SongbirdVLC folder but that in itself did not have any effect. Once I uninstalled AdBlock, then it all started working again.
Best extension ever! I used it in Firefox and now I can use it in Songbird, too! Perfect! :D
this keeps saying that it needs additional items to work and not telling me what it needs , so how do i get this to work.
Songbird 0.4 states this add-on is not compatible. Installation failed.

The same thing happened to me on Songbird 0.5pre. I think this might be a different issue, as many addons are not supported in the version I have. Anyway, I love Adblock Plus and use it in Firefox. Keep up the good work, Wladimir!

Adblock Plus definitely doesn’t do this. You probably installed Element Hiding Helper without installing Adblock Plus first–so the extension manager now tells you that you need Adblock Plus as well.
It took some time but the add-on is compatible now.

Why doesn't is the Install thing grayed out?
Let me first state that your safest bet is to wait for Palant & company to update adblockplus' install.rdf file to make it compat with songbird 0.7...
But if you don't feel like waiting, and you know how to edit *xpi files, take the install.rdf and change songbird's maxVersion from 0.6.* to 0.7.*

Open up Tools --> Add-ons and drag over your modified adblock_plus-0.7.5.4.xpi to install it.
