Adds support for iPod devices.
Play your iPod from Songbird and synchronize it with your Songbird library using the iPod device Songbird extension. This extension will mount your iPod in Songbird, allowing you to play songs from your iPod library and playlists. This extension also allows you to copy songs to your iPod or synchronize your iPod from your Songbird library.
New version in support of the Songbird 0.7 release.
This is the best extension of them all!
Amen !!
i have not used songbird ... yet, but i am definately planning on using it as my sole media player now that i will no longer need iTunes. I do have one question though; if my iPod softwear needs to get updated, will songbird prompt for an update to be downloaded, as iTunes would? I am running XP Pro, and will be running Vista Ultimate, well, atleast once they release SP1.
No, Songbird currently will not. I'm not sure if Apple even makes that possible.
Does/Will Songbird support other DAPs besides the iPod?
Yes, the 0.2.5 release will have support for generic USB players.
Does the addon sync playcount info from my iPOD? I'd love to be rid of iTUNES, but not unless I can build a smart playlist to manage my podcasts and to do that effectively the playcount information is really important. I'll keep watching and hoping. Thanks.
This appears to be duplicating files to the library. This means it takes up double the disc space!!! Am I wrong or not? Has anyone else noticed this? I am sick of iTunes and want to use only Songbird but can't afford the wasted disc space.
Currently, it does not, but it can be added in the future.
It shouldn't duplicate files. Do you have iTunes and Songbird open at the same time? They can conflict with each other if so. Try restoring your iPod to factory defaults. When iTunes pops up, set the iPod to disk mode and disable auto launch of iTunes. Then launch and use Songbird and see if you still get duplicates. Unfortunately, there's not a good way for Songbird to prevent iTunes from auto-launching for new (or restored) iPods.
Any Chance we can get this plugin for vista as I HATE REALLY &@$^@ HATE itunes. Please.....
I take it you tried it on Vista and it failed. Bummer. Looks like I'll have to purchase it.
Hi, god songbird is sooooo much better than Itunes! Just one thing i noticed though, unless im being an idiot (which is highly likely!) is that i like to put the album artwork on my ipod and cant seem to do it with songbird! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
That will be supported in a future release.
does not seems to work with my ipod shuffle (the old white one) with suse 10.2 and songbird 0.2. the device is not recognized in songbird. but i can access the ipod in the system.
I've just uploaded version 1.0.0. It has a fix for some Linux systems. Give it a try.
I use the Songbird 0.25 and copy song to my ipod shuffle. After it complete porting the song, I detach the ipod and try to play it, only the first 6 songs out of 126 songs can be played (Although songbird still list that I port all 126 songs in there). Wonder if anyone has the same issue (because I don't see any of you mentioning this problem) I am using Windows XP. Any response will be appreciated, thanks!
Were all the songs in the same format? What format were they (MP3)?
When ever i try to download this file, it says it is not supported by Firefox... any of you guys know whats up?
they are all in MP3 formats. I notice that after I plug my iPod Shuffle in, the playlist in the iPod is kind of weird. It list the first 6 tracks continuously, and then track 7 and 8 are blank, and then track 9 till 13 are listed continuously. I tried and deleted the blank tracks, and make it "looks" like they are listed continuously. I took the iPod out and listen, it has the same problem. I plug it back in and the playlist generated the gaps again. But anyway, thanks for your quick reply, Anymore help will be appreciated.
Try downloading it from within Songbird.
Do you use firefox to download this? Because you shouldn't download this file through firefox. You should download the file through Songbird. Or If you still want to download it using firefox and install it in songbird, right-click the download button and save the link (file) in your computer. And then open songbird and browse for that file in your computer. left-click the download button in firefox will only directly install the extension. So if the extension is not for firefox, it will generate error.
Oops... I think my comment above is not right either (i should have test it before I post my comment ... sorry) So apparently firefox should ask you to open or save the file when you left-click it. You should choose "save" and save it to your computer. And then use Songbird to open that extension. Or if you choose "open", you should click "browse" button and choose Songbird to open the extension, not Firefox. Hope that help, and sorry for my misleading comment above.
When I plug in my ipod, Songbird finds it and mounts the almost 4000 songs to its library. It then tells me my ipod is linked to another library and asks if I'd like to link it to the Songbird library which would mean all my existing songs and playlists would be deleted in the process. I choose "no" because I don't want that to happen yet. I'd like to see what the program is capable of before I give up on my current program - Anapod Explorer. At this point my ipod appears in the left menu like it should. When I click on it however, it only shows 449 songs that are available. It does however say I'm using 27gb of my 27.8gb at the bottom. What happened to the other 3500 songs? Also, when I go to my normal library, and click on a song that I'd like to upload to my ipod, the option is grayed out and I'm unable to transfer any songs to the ipod. Is this just because I haven't synced the library? It'd be nice to not have to do that, at least if all you wanted to do was transfer a few songs to your ipod or to your computer without dumping everything off your ipod first.
I'm not sure what's up with the missing songs. Are they DRM'd? You can use drag and drop to copy songs from your library to your iPod.
First off this extension - Amazing work! I have a nano that I just set up to work with songbird works great except one bug, then protected songs i transfered seem to be corrupte ie you can select them on ipod but they dont play they just skip to the next song, mp3's work fine and I can be happy with just those, but just wanted to ask if anyone else runs into this problem, I am one of the few running the OSX build so may be a problem on my side but any response would be appreciated -thanks
Is it possible to cache the ipod library so that the whole thing doesn't have to be reloaded every time SongBird starts? xulrunner.exe (on Windows, at least) starts housing the CPU and the fans in my computer start going full blast, which makes it sound like an aircraft carrier. I don't mean to spark any kind of conflict here, but I know Amarok does this, though admittedly I know nothing about libgpod.
My iPod video (5th gen) is not recognized by songbird. I am using 32-bit OpenSuSE 10.2 with Songbird 0.2.5 Songbird iPod Device Support 1.0.0 version of the add-on.
Is any text displayed when you open the iPod preference pane?
I want an alternative to Itunes and so far I really like Songbird's features, so I downloaded the Ipod sync ext. I'm using Windows XP. (Sorry, I haven't switched to Linux yet, but I've been looking at different distros). All my songs copied fine, but when I try to hold down "play" on my Video Ipod to shut down nothing happens when I'm in the middle of a song. Only when a playlist is finished and the screen goes back to Ipod menus does the off feature work. The same goes for holding down "Menu" to try and reset the Ipod. Can anyone help or is this perhaps a bug that needs to be worked out? Also, should I still be able to see the Ipod in Itunes and use it to sync video? I would like to buy your product. Do you know when the full official version of Songbird is to be released? I appreciate anything you have to offer.
The songs aren't DRM'd, just regular mp3's. Also to note, when I unplugged my ipod and turned it back on, only one song was listed on the ipod. I freaked out a little bit, but reconnected my ipod to find the same 449 songs listed in Songbird. I then closed out of Songbird and opened Anapod Explorer and all my songs were found. When I disconnected the ipod this time, all the songs were available to play on the ipod again. I have not had a chance to reconnect the ipod to Songbird since, but will once I get a free second. I'm not complaining by any means, this program looks great, just trying to help out with the bugs.
I'll look into this. I fixed a bug like this for the Nano. You should still be able to use your iPod with iTunes.
Tells me no iPod device is connected. I can access the iPod through the linux file manager, though.
Getting exactly the same behaviour with fedora core 5 (x86_64)... the ipod comes up when i plug it is opened by the gnome under /media/disk-1. But songbird doesnt seem to be able to see it and the preferences tab says "no ipod devices present"
Same thing happens to me on Windows, I plug my iPod in it says mounting ipod 0% then it's not detected even though I can see it mounted in windows... It's a 3rd gen firewire iPod with itunes not installed if that helps.
Hmm i got it to finally detect the iPod then XUL runner crashed nice :(.
I've had a similar problem, namely only a few of the tracks on the iPod Shuffle playing. But they were listed correctly within Songbird; no blank tracks as you (liuzh) report.
I didn't have the time to check thoroughly, but it was my impression that only the songs within one of the iPod_ControlMusic subfolders were played. At the time my Shuffle had 7 of those subfolders.
Before trying Songbird I was using the foo_pod plugin for foobar. What resolved the problem for me was: with foo_pod I chose the option 'delete all songs and playlists' from the iPod. I was left with the 7 empty music subfolders and one other file, the name of which I can't remember - 'iPodprefs'/'iTunesprefs', perhaps?
Back in Songbird, when tranferring songs onto the iPod, a lot of new folders and files were created. There are now 20 music subfolders. Also a calendar and contacts folder, which I deleted... are those standard folders on other iPod models? Within the folder iPod_control are, besides the Music folder, an iTunes folder (that contains the playlist, db, prefs, etc.) and an empty Device folder. Now all mp3 songs play.
A new problem is that the m4a files aren't playing. They show up on the playlist within Songbird and are definitely on the iPod. But they don't play. Why does everyone hate iTunes? I see nothing wrong with it aside that it could use a few fixes, the only issue I am having is that not all podcast go into the podcast folder some go into the music folder and not all videos go in their appropriate folder but thats just a matter of fixing headers with in the files or iTunes allowing you to move it their.. So far I like it better than any other Music library software I have used...I love the way I can scroll through my library by looking at the album covers and not just a list, although I wish my iPod would do that too, but in time I am sure it will be added. Songbird can't even handle all the features of iTunes so their is not even any competition.. But however Songbird does have allot of features and addons that no other player contains...
I have a question: If I connect my ipod to my computer, will the music from my ipod be trasferred into songbird? (I don't have itunes on my computer and I'm running Vista Home Premium) I have this fear that I'm going to lose all of my music off of my ipod if I try it.
I have the exact same problem under Gentoo 64-bit. How is it detecting the iPod under linux?
Can't see my Ipod. Windows XP SP2 ... Songbird 0.2.5 Ipod Device SUpport 1.0.1 The Ipod itsel is ancient : first 20GB for windows. Itunes is *not* installed. The Ipod properly mounts as a drive and is accessible (read/write) from windows explorer. When I launch Songbird, and the Ipod is plugged in, I get a message : "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive". The Ipod might be showing up under the USB devices tab as "STORAGE DEVICE (generic)". But it would not let me specify a directory to download music to. Is my my Ipod too old to be supported ?
In order to detect connected iPods, the extension reads the /etc/mtab. If you do not have sufficient access privileges, the iPod extension may not be able to read the file.
No, the extension does not yet support copying from the iPod into Songbird.
Do you know if you will also make support for iTunes phones like the Motorola SLVR?
I'd like it to support the iTunes phones, including the iPhone, but I don't have any to test with. Has anyone tried the SLVR with my extension?
Just grabbed the 0.2.5.1 linux i686 build of songbird, and I have the 1.0.1 version of the ipod plugin. I plugged in my nano in and, although it is mounted, songbird doesn't see it. The nano is shown in /etc/mtab. Here is the line: /dev/sdb2 /media/IPOD vfat rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,shortname=winnt,uid=33525 0 0 I do have permission on all the files under there.
Working brilliantly on my friend's iPod 5g. Well done.
I installed Songbird on Linux yesterday. Updating the library of my iPod video G5 took me about two hours. It did the following: copied all my music to the iPod That works, but what it also did was copying all my music to the video section and putting some videos into the music section. I don't know, what it does with podcasts and other media, like ogg files, which were also put on the iPod, but it can't play them ! In any case: I like Songbird and started using my iPod again...
Yeah, I need to do some more work with the video iPod support.
I'm curious. If I use this on my 5g 80gb ipod will the music still play as gapless or will I lose this feature? Rochey
If you can find some way of getting the podcasts to be placed correctly, I will start using Songbird in a heartbeat :D
The library the extension depends upon, libgpod, does not yet support gapless playback. However, the developers of that library are working on it.
I can't really tell from looking at the code, but I do know I have sufficient access privileges, and I have a custom udev rule that creates the device at /dev/ipod.
I notice that the directions state:
I also notice that, unlike iTunes, Songbird does not have checkboxes next to the tracks. Is there any way to selectively choose what tracks we want to go to our iPods without dragging/dropping? This process is lengthy enough for those of us with large libraries. I would like to suggest an option to:My ipod is still unrecognized. I have removed the itunes infection, all registry entries from apple, etc. "No ipod devices present" What can I do? I don't want to use itunes ever again, even though it can actually rip my CDs and it has better organizing functions still. I have un and re installed songbird and the extension. my ipod is a 3rd generation How can I check that windows knows it is there? Thanks
Eventually, I want to add that, but it requires some UI support from Songbird itself.
Does the iPod show up in Windows with a drive letter? If not, you may need to set the iPod to disk mode using iTunes.
Is itunes the only way to do this? If I add songs while in disk mode, will they be playable by the ipod? I will give it a try, thanks for the response.
Unfortunately, itunes crashes whenever I try to launch it. I've tried reinstalling. I found instructions on switching to disk-mode holding the front-panel buttons. This works but once I'm in disk mode the ipod is frozen. So now my ipod says "Disk mode" "OK to disconnect" but won't respond to anything except a reset which undoes the disk mode setting. Going back to disk mode bring the same freeze-up. I've googled but everyone simply refers back to apples "reset it" page. I know this is not ipod support but has anyone experience the like? Any suggestions?
Thanks Eric for your replies. It turns out that, even though my ipod is designed for 1394 and can only charge through a firewire port, I can only have it recognized through USB. (only a 1394 cable was included with the ipod) Thanks apple.
I have a question that was asked above but never answered... When I connect my ipod (5th gen), songbird recognizes it and mounts everything. I then dragged and dropped a bunch of songs to the ipod. Disconnected successfully. When I loaded up my ipod, it only showed the 300 or so songs I just loaded and not the files previously on there. When I check the capacity, it still says there is only 5gb remaining, but says there is only 300 songs on there. Any ideas? Songbird is muy important to me! Please help!
Hello, Just downloaded Songbird and really like it as an app. It can see my 2GB iPOD nano (black) and that's great. I can play from it and all, BUT I can't seem to be able to copy files from my computer to the iPOD. Tried Dragging & Dropping from my Library in main window to the device in the "Left hand" window and that doesn't work. If I right-click on a library track, the Copy to Device is grayed out. I think I'm just missing something - but what is it? I'm using Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. - CH
The one thing that will sway me to one player over another is the ability to transcode files while syncing. Options like "over a certain bitrate" or "certain file type (IE FLAC)" would be needed. So, I was wondering if this addon/Songbird will support that in the end?
A general transcoding architecture is being worked on for Songbird. When this is available, transcoding support can be added for the iPod.
Wonderful. Just like Firefox, Songbird will be my new software I can show off to friends.
I have the same problem on my Fedora Core 5 (x86_32), the iPod is mounted but the plug-in tells that there is no iPod connected. I hope the developer of this plug-in fix this, is the only thing that is missing to make Songbird my daily-use player.
I get the same problem with my 3Gen iPod. Also using Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. I plug in the iPod and it comes up ok. But I can't transfer any songs over. I tried the modifying the iPod preferences to set to manual update, auto update from playlist etc. but it just resets them every time so they have no effect. Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks, sg
Got a question. I use Rockbox on my iPod. Can this extension be used to transfer Ogg files to an iPod. Also I noticed someone was asking if Songbird would notify them of updates to thier iPod with this extension. If that isn't possible you guys may want to think about working out something with the Rockbox guys. It's an excenlent piece of firmware for the iPod.
Just answered my own question. Got my entire collection transcoded to ogg. Put em all on my iPod using songbird. From there Rockbox plays em off with out a problem.
Does this add-on support podcasts?
Great Add-on. Many thanks... any chance of getting the "Autofill" button added somehow? I like the randomness of not personally selecting what I'm listening to from my library. All the best.
I am also on Ubuntu Fiesty Fawn and can not get songs to copy to my ipod mini.
Exactly the same problem here with Feisty Fawn and an iPod mini. I can copy mp3's to my iPod mini using other apps such as gtkpod, floola, and Rhythmbox - but with Songbird the option to "Copy to Device" is greyed out. Very annoying.
just got a new hard drive and am starting from scratch. got songbird and the i pod support, don't even have i tunes on here yet. my problem is that when i plugged my i pod into the computer songbird made it's library sync with the i tunes library. while the i pod is plugged in you can play the songs from it via the songbird library. when you unplug it though the songs all stay (like 1,000 of 'em) in the songbird library even though they aren't on the computer anywhere. when you try to play one it is just silence. how do i get these phantom songs out of my library?
I've used this addon for a while with my 8 GB nano and I think that it's great. I've encountered one odd problem though: one song (Starship Troopers by Yes), refuses to upload to my iPod. The song name is listed on my iPod but not the iPod track listing on songbird, and the file is not on the iPod hard drive (so it doesn't play). I have it in two different cuts and have the same problem with both of them. How can I get songbird to properly load these songs?
I love Songbird! its refreshing to see someone finally working on a new media player after itune repeatedly crashed on me on multiple computers. And i know what i'm about to ask is probably answered elsewhere, but i really tried to find the solution to this (read the forum, bugzilla), but i couldn't find it anywhere... Unfortunately, the iPod sync does not seem to work. When i first connected my iPod, it asked whether if i want to remove all the files from the iPod. And i clicked on yes, and it started uploading songs, which took about a minute or so. But i didn't see any songs in the "iPod" folder, and only 30mb of space is used. And when i unplugged the iPod, all the songs i uploaded were there, but they just don't play. I read that some people have the similar problem, but i have yet to find a solution for this...any help would be appreciated!
I'm looking for an alternative to Itunes mainly because I do not want my music copied into a library on my harddrive. I just want to put music from my external drive or whereever onto my ipod without making copies. Before I download songbird and the ipod extension for OSX, can somebody explain to my how songbird handles their library and whether it copies the music into its own library, as this is not what I want. Thanks in advance Lisa
Did the comment 14 in bug 3210 apply to your problem? If not, I can create a new bug for your issue.
Please see bug 3512 at http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3512.
You can try to add your user to the "disk" group. It worked for me. Use the command 'usermod -G disk,your_user your_user'. Restart if Songird can't see the ipod yet, it happened to me the first time.
I can't see my ipod. I am Windows user, but i don't have admin rights... any suggestions?
Is support for Songbird 0.3 planned soon? Ver 0.2 doesn't work on my PC. Either way, thanks for all your work & for what I hear is a great tool.
I'm yet to try it myself - but any issue with Vista is likely due to UAC - try running SongBird as an administrator (Right Click on the Icon/Program and choose "Run as Administrator")
This is a wonderful extension, but (as has been mentioned), when a video is uploaded, it doesn't go in the appropriate location - looks like you stuff it in the music folder versus the video folder. Beyond this, it's very hard to beat this extension when wanting to use your iPod in Linux.
Do you have the iPod configured for disk mode?
I'm working on the 0.3 version now.
this is a good extension and it's very useful and this way i can avoid itunes yes! however songbird allows me to use .wma files and load them onto my ipod but the ipod doesnt play them is there a way around this?
Well, a really nice plugin but I've a few problems with it. First I can't drag and drop files, but this does not seem to have to do something with this plugin. My workaround is just to create a playlist named IPod and sync that playlist automatically. This is no problem for me, and the drag-and-drop bug seems to be fixed in songbird 0.3. Another annoying thing of this plugin is that files are copied more than one times onto the ipod when they're in various playlists. If a song is for example in 2 (local) playlists and I auto-sync those the song is copied twice onto the ipod. This is really annoying because I only have a 2gb nano so not that much space. Would be nice if you could fix that. And a last nice thing would be if you'd support image id3-tags (e.g. covers) and add those covers. I know from gtkpod that the ipod can show the cover while playing a song if it is tagged with it. Dunno how gtkpod does this, but it's a really nice feature.
yeah.. convert those files to mp3, because the ipod does not support wma, this has nothing to do with this plugin I think.
It does not what iTunes does. You select directories where you store your music and songbird searches in those for music files. Nothing is copied.
hi.. well im just checking with you guys if there is an existing addon that displays my music playing on songbird 0.2.5 on msn.. i've just installed songbird (switching from winamp due to the lack of support to vista users) and im looking through addons list but no trace of any msn addon.. is there anyone who knows if theres someone at this very moment fixing an addon like that or if this type of addon request seems to hard make it work with songbird.. if there's someone with an answer please pm me or just answer my reply. tnx //(sorry for my bad english)
Not only the iPod itself can show the images in id3-tags, also modern car audio systems like the mine do show iPod-Covers. The day this function is correctly implemented I never would make use of iTunes again, and finally would not have to boot windows everytime. I'll keep an eye on the great work Erik is doing with this extension.
You know that gtkpod can do this cover art thing under linux?
I have gtkpod installed, but it messes up my tags. For example, I set the tags in compilations to Artist: "Compilations", Title: Artist - Title - this is for having grouped all the compilation cds well under one artist which like mentioned is "Compilations". I don't know why and how it does that, but gtkpod shows me the real Artist-Name under "Artist" and not "Compilations". Yet I didn't try to synchronize the mess I see in gtkpod with the iPod. There are some other issues like that it doesn't support mpc and m4a at least for playing them (ok, the last one I know would work with a recompile, but it would take me to install all the development environment stuff only for that, and that's not worth it). I also use Amarok and it's great(!) cover-manager that uses Amazons Webservices for retrieving cover arts, but it seems like Amarok doesn't save the whole image in the id3-Tag. And Amarok can't link directly to the iPod-library like Songbird or iTunes do, I'd have to manually transfer the files. I really can't always know anything I changed in my audio-files, I expect the software checking this for me - and I don't want to always transfer the whole library, 'cause it's too big - a real synchronize function is crucial. This is why right now I put all my hope in the development of songbird and this extension, allowing me finally to use one program for full iPod experience, no matter whether I run windows or linux.
Eventually, transcoding support will be added to Songbird to automatically convert WMA's to MP3. For the 0.3 release, I'll change the iPod device extension to not place WMA and other non-playable files on the iPod.
The drag and drop and multiple files will be fixed for the version for 0.3. Album art will come later when it's added to Songbird.
It's an excellent extension and works on our 4G iPod, but will this have iPhone support?
Hey, very happy with songbirdnest as a whole but I just can't get this add-on to work with my 2nd gen 4Gb Nano... I'm running openSuSe 10.2; when I plug the ipod in, it mounts as /media/ipodnano and Banshee fires up and shows it present.... songbird doesn't however, even when I close banshee. BTW, nano is formatted to work with Windows (I've moved over from Vista) and has been restored back to default Any ideas?
I installed Songbird 0.2.5 and do have the add-on for iPod. My iPod is 1st gen (20g) My ipod stays flashing with "Do Not Disconnect" and my Songbird just stays at "Mounting iPod 0%" I can see the ipod from windows explorer. I am using Win XP. Any tips, much appreciated
rlloyd, Everybody hates Itunes because it had a virtual monopoly on a great gadget and it had a chance to set a standard. It set that standard to the lowest level possible. One of the things I hate so much about Itunes is that if you've set it to download your podcasts, if you haven't listened to an episode for a little while, it stops downloading them. The sound is carp, when the hardware is capable of so much more. Listening to Opera or strings at 32 kbps is ear destroying, put it up to 192 kbps or 320 kbps, which some European stations are webcasting classical music at: and its balm for the ears instead. Just a start, friend, good luck. brendan
I have one problem: I used songbird for puting music on my Ipod (2nd generation). It was great. Then I update my libary and I got double songs on my ipod. Not very good. Then I descided to clean up this mess. I deleted all the music from my Ipod. I did it. However there are still names of the music visable on my ipod which cannot be played obviusly. I tried to sync with my library and the result was same songs three times where only one time music is actually below the name. I hope I made myself clear. Please adivse how to clean up this mess.

It may be a permissions issue. Take a look at the following bug: http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2921 Banshee probably uses the HAL driver. I'd like to add support for that at some point. I think it will fix these issues.
Hmm. Not sure what it would be. I'm going to release a version for Songbird 0.3 soon, and it has several bug fixes that may address this issue.
Try restoring your iPod to factory settings. That will erase everything.
using PCLinuxOS 2007... songbird .25 and .3pre... my video ipod isnt mounted within songbird unless i log in as root. running songbird as root just crashes songbird. this is really irritating (because i know its just something small thats making it not work) any ideas?
Take a look at the following bug: http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2921
yes, setting the "disk" permission worked like magic. <3
I've just uploaded a version of the iPod device extension for Songbird 0.3 at http://addons.songbirdnest.com/extensions/detail/52.
i have ubuntu and when i install this addon and restart the songbird i get this error at terminal "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" and the songbird closes...in order to open the songbird i have to write this command "songbird -safe-mode" and then disable this addon and restart the songbird....do you have any ideas how to fix it?
Erik, Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this plugin. I cannot express my gratefulness that talented software engineers are working to provide an alternative to the iTunes chokehold that has clipped the wings on my enjoyment of music. Is there any chance that you or the Songbird team eventaully plan iPhone support? I know that is a lot to ask and there's a lot on your plate.. but it would be a creme de lacreme of dreams come true. Lightspeed to you, Brett

I'm using SongBird 0.2.5.1 along with iPod Device Support v1.0.2 and the latest iPod classic 80GB. I'm doing a manual drag of music over to the iPod and when I access the iPod it shows no music available. When I go into iTunes, can't access the iPod correctly and then I end up with a Factory Restore. Is the issue that the iPod Device Support just hasn't been updated to work with the latest iPod or could there be a different issue here? Thanks. Randy
