MinimizeToTray (Songbird version)

Thanks for uploading an extension! I'm just poking around with the comments.

Fantastic extension. I love that it notifies me when a new song starts and which one it is. That's the kind of functionality I'm surprised isn't built into Songbird itself.

i'm sorry but the "Minimize on close" does not work for me in SB 0.2.5 nightlies. Closing SB simply... closes it !!!

Phenomenal extension! Really great thing to have, I think it should be rolled into the main app. Two requests. 1. Can you hijack the close button and make it go to tray? 2. Can you add a little tooltip to the tray icon that tells you the song name rather than the current one which just gives you the app name (at least on Windows XP) Thanks again!

Nope, it never did. Too bad its just for Windows...it would be nice if it was rolled into the main application, and for all platforms.

Any way to have Songbird always show in the system tray instead of the taskbar? I almost always have a media player open in the minimal view (I was previously using Winamp like that), and having it always sit in the taskbar takes up a good amount of space. I dig this extension, but it's only useful when Songbird's completely minimized. It would be perfect if it had the following choices: 1. Show in system tray: [Always | Minimized | Never] 2. Show notifications: [Always | Minimized | Never] Other than that, excellent work. This should be included in the Windows builds by default.

...and perhaps options for notification animation speed and amount of time it's displayed.

I would be interested in two things: 1) Always have the system tray icon shown option 2) Minimize to tray when the miniplayer view is chosen. Great addition though. I agree, this should be included by default :-)

That happens for me too, using WinXPSP2 and Songbird 0.2.5. Minimize to tray only minimizes to tray with the min button--not close :(

I like the tooltip idea--but I'd like artist and title and maybe album/track

Awesome feature! I love it. One suggestion, have a single click on the tray icon pause/resume play. Just a bit easier than opening the menu, finding the pause item and choosing it.

Very useful feature! Shuold be integrated in the programm! I've got 2 requests: 1. The Mini Player should also be minimised to tray. 2. Could you add a little tooltip to the tray icon which informs you about the current song and where you can directly download this song when you're tuned in!

thank GOODNESS there's an add-on for this. i was upset that songbird didn't include it as an option to begin with. glad i found this!

To tell the truth i downloaded SongBird and was about to use. But... with its interface it seemed to difficult to me and i gave it up not to waste time. Chinese language software

It's annoying to have to maximize the program to look what song you are hearing. Please, please, please! :)

Yeah, update? Or at least inclusion of this basic feature for a media player in the core...

This add-on does not install with SB version 0.3 and 0.3.1. I get a pop-up that says: "MinimizeToTray (Songbird version)" will not be installed because it does not provide secure updates". Probably because it is an unsigned add-on? I know these are developer releases of SB, but it might be a good idea to get on that early...

When I try to install I get an error message in the addons window that says “"MinimizeToTray (Songbird version)” will not be installed because it does not provide secure updates" I’m running xp and SB V 0.3.1

I’m not sure if I’m doing it wrong, but I can’t get this to work at all in SB version 0.5.

Doesn’t work at all in SB .6 RC2

No go in 0.6 (and apparently 0.5 either). Extensions shouldn’t be marked compatible with songbird 0.1 – 2.0+ before we even have these releases. 0 stars :P

Just a hint guys. Look at the release date. A good bet is if the release date is older than the new Songbird Update chances are compatibility isn’t 100%.

Same thing.. no go in 0.6.. will wait for a new release.. it’s a handy App to have..

Does not "minimize to tray"

Had the same problem as the previous poster.

I'm using Windows XP and 0.7.0rc2. This was disappointing as I use Thunderbird and Firefox and the same extension (as least it's called the same) works fine with both.
