Ok, it works on my copy of songbird, but only to make the .aa extension visible, which was the goal. Skwurl.

Description
Simply defines .aa as a media file for songbird, whether or not
the files will play I can’t guarantee, as i don’t have
any myself, however they should play if your copy of VLC/ G-streamer supports them.

I was really excited to try this out, but version 1.1 is not compatible with Songbird 0.5. Any chance it’ll get an upgrade?
That would be pretty sweet.

Songbird would be the perfect ipod accompaniment for Linux if this plugin was updated for version 1.1. How do we estcalate? Who was the original developer?

Ah, no, this won't work. You could try getting the core vlc and gst wrappers and stuffing the .aa extension into their lists.
