Integrate the Hype Machine site into Songbird
This extension creates a web playlist based on the RSS playlist file on each Hype Machine page. It also
adds the Hype Machine site as a search option.
To use the extension select the Hype Machine search option when
doing a search or type “www.hypem.com” in the web
address text box.
Yeah, the Hype Machine puts the song info in an RSS file, so a second download is required before generating any song info. In comparison, the song info (MP3 URLs at least) are in the page HTML on Dogpile, so the information is available as soon as the HTML is loaded.
I was just working on doing something like this. I tried your extension but none of the tracks will stream. Before the extension I would just save the m3u playlist as a playlist and download them from there. The problem for me then is that when a user agent the hype machine recognizes is used to get the mp3 file (like songbird downloading the file) the user is just directed back to the hype machine site. So songbird just downloads an html file with a .mp3 extension. I am thinking that is happening while trying to play the songs with this extension because I can't get any of them to play. Am I doing something wrong?
Version 1.0.1 seems to be running a lot faster. Did you make optimization changes? It is working great now though. :)

why does this add/on not work any more? three weeks ago it worked just fine, not I can not seem to get the bottom pane of hype machine songlist to appear anyone knows why?

It is decent, but Songbird picks out the songs a little slow compared to others such as Dogpile.
