This extension is really what sold me on Songbird. I couldn't live without it. Well I could, but I'd complain alot. -ALEX
Sample and download eMusic tracks in Songbird. Adds a web
playlist with download buttons that work with the eMusic site. Also
adds an eMusic service pane item with eMusic browsing history and
download status.
Version 0.8.0: This version works with Songbird 0.5 and 0.6pre and
has a few bug fixes.
Version 0.7.0: This version works with Songbird 0.4 and 0.5. Since
it’s the initial port of the previous eMusic extension, it
doesn’t yet have all of its features. The download button and
progress bar are way better, though.

Does this only work on Windows? You should resubmit it as working on all platforms if it does.
Yes it is.
Do you just call the browser to handle the .emd file? If you do I'm sure this extension would work on Mac and Linux (via eMusicJ) as long as the browser was set up right!
Ahh ok sorry :) Having just tried out the extension (under windoze), it seems that the artist/album sub directories aren't created and files are just put in the download folder. Is this going to be implemented in the future or have I just missed a setting somewhere?
The plugin is very cool by allowing you to listen to the track snippets on the website. This allows me to sample music while still working. I just wish the extension, while downloading, would allow you to organize music files into subfolders and to have control over file naming (adding artist, album, track# and track name). Another suggestion that I have is to include an indicator icon (like itunes little speaker icon) letting you know which track is being played in the bottom list. For now I listen to music in Songbird and download with the emusic Remote. Keep up the good work and hopefully we can see more tweaks to this great extension.
I'm an existing emusic user and I've installed this with 0.25 for OS X. When I try to log in, the Location field shows the success page, but the screen is the 50 free downloads splash, which then links to a signup page. I can't seem to get to my home page at all.
to log in correctly you have to click on the log in button in the bottom tray. (not sure if this is a bug or not)
simong, Have you managed to get your plug-in working?
What about a version compatible with Songbird 0.6.1? :)
I’m using Songbird 0.6.1 and miss a lot this extension.
hmm - no updates in a while - any plans on bringing this one up to the current version?
Does this add-on work with 0.6.1? I am new to songbird and don't see any new features with the add-on?
^-- another vote to update this for 0.7.0
any updated version that will work with Songbird version 1.0.0?
This looks great! Waiting for the Songbird version 1.0.0 update! :)
i'm not sure i understand what this add-on accomplishes exactly.
i'm on a pc with no emusic managers installed, and after installing this extension i still get a prompt asking what songbird is supposed to do with the down load. open with or save as.
if i have the manager installed i can just use that to 'open as', so whats the point in this?
what am i missing?
How do you start it?
As far as I know, this extension does not work since the release of Songbird version 0.6.1. I could use it with version 0.5 (I think) and it worked perfectly. It used to be a great extension, but since Erik abandoned it, all I can expect is to someone pick it up and continue the development. Unfortunately I have no time for this now.
A nice alternative for those who do not appreciate the newest emusic download manager (that runs on Mac, Windows and Linux) is EmusicJ.
This looks really good! Wood be nice if someone could maintain it. Unfortunately I don't have the skill...
Is this addon going to be updated?
I'd love to use Songbird to downloads my music, back in the Songbird beta days it was already better that the default DL Manager, thus I'd like to see this one working.

It seems pretty awesome!
