You can select multiple letters, the letters box is just an organizational feature, the playlist is modified only when you click an artist/album name. Didn’t it work for you?
Thanks for trying it!

A different Tag Cloud Media Page: The font size won't change with the number of songs by artist/album/genre. But on the other hand there's a filter by letter, it shows all the tags and integrates well with the default search bar.
Thanks a lot and enjoy.

Working on latest demands:

Update Max Version
What font do you use in the screenshot ?
Yep it works allright now, it was my own testing addon that screwed up^^
(thats happend before)
thanks!
Thanks ;)
This extension has helped clean up my rather large collection of music, i hope to see this working on SB0.6 soon outside of that keep up the good work.
sweet thanks, It works well with in Linux with big libraries too i have over 16000 songs on mine and its purrs like a kitten for me
Can you set maxVersion to 0.7pre please ?
Very good add-on!
And it works flawlessly on my computer. There is only one thing,
that I don’t really like.
My Favorite Feather for SongBird is nativebird. When I use this
add-on with nativebird, the letters are only black, but visible at
mouse roll-over. Now im no programmer, the only thing I have done i
some webpages. But i looks like the style sheet has some problems
with some feathers. Any way to fix this?
Thanks!
Wow. Really neat add-on. I see someone mentioned in the comments above about selecting multiple letters. I don’t seem to be able to though, not that i think it matters too much. Would be good to know these things all the same i suppose.
Brunods you Rock! :D
The Extension is great, fits very well on Ruberducky.
Today however, I’ve installed the new GONZO interface and thought it would be worth
feedbacking.
Look on the screenshot

Sorry about messing up with the hyperlink.
I hoped the site was supporting BBcode
Using Songbird 0.7 on linux, I'm also having the problem where the letters are only visible on mouseover in gonzo because otherwise they are white-on-white. Also see the problem in the "Sparkle" feather. I don't think gonzo is available for download because it is packaged with Songbird as of 0.7.
Sorry still problems here. :(
SB 0.7
Ubuntu 8.04
With Gonzo ofc. ;)

i'm trying to use this addon under osx leopard, but nothing appears when i switch to that media display. simply nothing.
now i'm using the 0.7, but even on 0.6 nothing appears.
if somebody could help me to get it working...
thanks in advance
you mess up the maxVersion : it should be 1.0.0 or 1.1.0pre
not 1.0
Hello, I love this add-on.
Could you please add the possibility to build the cloud also on the "Album Artist" tag.
Thx a lot
I have a big library and when I choose the S for artist, the number of artist I have is too great for the window to hold. I am therefore unable to choose anything from the list. Is there a way you could set a threshold, or in some other way keep a set amount of space available to view the songs?
Is there a way that i can change the background for this for one of my skins? For instance, can i put a different color or even image for my Aero Bird, and also for everyone that downloads Aero Bird?
Just downloaded this view...must say, it's very nice. May not be my default view (at least not yet), but I can see it being my second most used and with some improvement my go to media view.
I have a few suggestions/comments:
1) the ability to unchoose all artists would be great (so, if I've clicked The Shins, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin, the ability to simply click a button that gives me a blank slate/my library/whatever playlist I was looking at)
2) it would be awesome to have the ability to set the default space for the black box of tags (I have a ton of 'S's and 'A's...but four artists that start with 'Q'. The black box that contains the cloud gets REALLY big sometimes and at other times gets really small)
3) I'd absolutely love it if I could pull random tags instead of specifically from letters
Hope this all made sense. It's about 3 in the morning, haha. Thanks for the great addon and listening to the feedback!
Dammit, no edit button...at least, not that I can see. I just came up with something else that more or less fits into my number two from above:
If I could manually move the borders of the black box up and down, that would solve my earlier stated problem. However, I don't particularly wanna lose the functionality of having it size itself...so maybe the ability to scroll up and down?
Sorry for the double post. :-/
brunods, thanks a ton. You're snappy to reply and you update damn quick. You're the man.
As for my number 3, what I mean is I'd love to be able to have, instead of a letter, the ability to see a randomly selected list of clouds based on whatever the criteria (Album, Artist, Genre) is. So, I click on this Random button or whatever it might be, and, since I look at this by Artist, it gives me a full range of things, including The Beatles, Oasis, Simon and Garfunkel, Andy McKee, just whatever it happens to choose. If it's by Genre, it'll give me Electronica, Blue Grass, Alternative, etc.
Hope this helped you out, mate. Keep up the fantastic work!
I have a visual problem with Genre/Artist/Album select button. Not a big deal but I don't understand why.
http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/9440/sbpicbj9.png
I use Songbird 1.00 (Build 860), WinXP MCE version 2002 with SP3
brunods: Thanks the fast reply.
OK. The reset button came back, but I still have problem with Genre/Artist/Album select button.
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/8033/sbpwm7.png
I can't see the hole word on the button: [Ar...] instead of [Artist], [Ge...] instead of [Genre], [Al...] instead of [Album].
it seems that this add-on doesn't work proper on my PC..
could you pls update the maxversion
thank you
Dude this is my favorite Media View, Songbird ain't the same without it, please update it so we can use it on Songbird 1.1 thank you!!!
Wow the Genre/Artist/Album select button problem is disappeared!
This is the best media view add-on! Thanks man! :)
Excellent work... So much better than the other Tag Cloud addon. Works perfectly, no problems.
Thank You! Keep up the good work!
This is NOT a tag cloud, because fonts are all the same size, it should be relative on how many songs/data there is for each artist/genre/album. And it would be also nice if there was like "show all" or "show summary", because I hate clicking letters every time I'd like to play something. And I can't shift+select letters. Somehow worse add on than the other tag cloud add on. Please consider my suggestions developers!
You should update the screenshot ;)
I like it
it's very good!
will you make multi-genre support? (like Rock/Hard Rock/Ballad)
or may be multitagging from comments like on last.fm?
From Get Satisfaction: http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/topics/compatible_update_for_divide_tag_cloud_1_2
compatible update for divide tag cloud 1.2
I just want to know if the divided tag cloud will be made compatible with song bird 1.2........... it's one of the main reasons i use songbird
is there a chance that you could update the add on so that it's compatible with songbird 1.2?
Like the previous user, your add on is one of the reasons that I use songbird more than itunes or wmp... It looks great!!!!
thanks a lot for the add on update mate! my songbird looks great now!
Everyone should download your add on!
Love this add-on. It's currently my favorite media view. But I do have one idea that may or may not be an improvement (for how I use Songbird it might, at least), and that is to have an album cloud pop up when you click on an artist. So when I click on the artist's name then the artist cloud is replaced by a cloud of all albums by that artist that we can then click on to play or drag to the Now Playing list. The one drawback with this that I can see right off the bat is that it would demand a reset every time you click an artist. But I dunno, just an idea! Great work!
Excellent add-on, but I'm noticing a strange bug. If I'm switching to divided tag cloud from another media view, divided tag cloud only works when I'm switching from one particular media view (another add-on, called "album list"). Other than that quirk, it's an incredible addition to Songbird. Sure beats my previous favorite-by-default, filter pane.
This is one of my favorite media-views, and it works great for me; there's only one small problem, already mentioned above: if I switch from another media-view to this one, all I get is the upper and lower boxes without content; to populate the boxes, I have to refresh the UI (which is done quickly, so I'm not really complaining or anything, I just thought I'd let you know).
Thanks a lot!
Hi brunods! Your add-on is great!
I like it so much that I borrowed some code from it for the sorting mechanism in my latest Spotbird Artist Browser update. I hope that's alright. Please check it out, if you think I took too much I'll change it back.
Thanks!
This would be the sickest thing ever if you could change the view under the divided tag cloud to other media views (for instance the album list) it would be the nicest looking thing ever!!!!!!!!!! please please please do it! you would feel the love!
Thankyou for this though it is still pretty good!
just to clarify the point - http://www.flickr.com/photos/39173155@N08/3602872753/
i have absolutely minimal amounts of programming skill whatsoever, but i was thinking you might be able to download the file to edit around the album list and then maybe get the tag cloud to feed into that somehow (instead of into the standard view). but without the technical know how i stopped thinking about it, maybe its best to ask some one on the forum for ideas.

I haven’t tried this add on my large library yet , but I must say I like this cloud a lot more than the other one! (at least this works better for me ;) …. )
One thing I’d like to see though, is the option to select more than one letter at the time. i.e. I want to play queen and led zeppelin it should be able to select multiple letters, no?
Anyhow, great job so far!
