Thanks for changing MacBird to NativeBird, I like because it is native, there are other good skins too, but they does not alow to use default WindowDecorator like your skin and this is the thing why i don`t like other skins.

I didn’t like the actual miniplayer and had too many problems with it, so I removed it for the moment. Please use Rubberducky’s instead, sorry.
But I’m thinking on a new way to minimize the bird.

I tested it on Windows XP and didn’t see any problem with the “Jump to” window.

Thanks for your interest !

great addon!
there is a bug; it’s missing the resized topbar (the one with play/pause volume….)

The topbar should be there (look at the screenshots).
Which OS are you using ?
Could you send me a screenshot ?

@Tael_
This addon is very buggy in 0.6rc5. Please correct the following bugs:
http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show_bug.cgi?i…
http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show_bug.cgi?i…
There also appears to be some conflict between Native Bird and Jump To Feather:
http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show_bug.cgi?i…
I do not know if this is a problem with your addon or not, but I think it would be wise to follow that bug thread and see what comes of it.
Cheers.

Thanks a lot for reporting these bugs !
I uploaded a new version that should correct some of the problems (but not the Windows crash).

Very good! Mini player could be better, but this feather is a “must have” if we like to manage SongBird’s window like the rest of windows in our system.

Hey Tael,
cool Theme you wrote. The screenshots are very nice.
Sadly it does not look that nice on my Linux. So I use Glossy Coat Theme. But I usually got my close/minimize/maximize buttons on the left hand side and songbird is the only application with having them on the right. But with your theme I got my usual Window Title, also the buttons are on the left. So I just like to "mix" both themes. Can you please tell me how to set the standard window title? Where in your theme is this defined? I just need the place where the code stands. Inserting it in the other theme hopefully will not be that difficult.

Sorry but I didn't make any custom changes to the "titlebar", it just uses Xulrunner's one, so I don't really know where you could change that.

I'm currently working on recoding Nativebird from the scratch to make it compatible with 0.7 and it might correct your problem, so stay tuned.

Ok, so please can you tell me in which file on which line I can tell songbird to use XULrunner's standard titlebar? I suggest all other themes (including rubberduckly) use any other titlebar and your's is the only one using the standard bar. I hope you can help me anyway!
Sorry for maybe annoying you, but I just want songbird to use my standard window manager and not creating it's own titlebar.
That's a point I really don't understand why some programs want to force their own design without taking any care whether it fits in the users GUI or not. For Mac you made a solution, but for linux there is none at the moment.

Open your theme's install.rdf file and in
<songbird:layouturl>chrome://songbird/content/feathers/basic-layouts/xul/mainplayer.xul</songbird:layouturl>
<songbird:showchrome>false</songbird:showchrome>
change showChrome to true.

(Note : this can cause some glitch in the theme)

Can't wait for native bird based on Gonzo! Please feel free to email me directly with any suggestions/change requests you might have about the the CSS/images/layout that would make your life easier from a feather developer point of view.

Once I've finished the Gonzo version, I'll make a Rubberducky version.
Just be patient (or send me patches).

Hi, I'm using Ubuntu, and I tried your feather (which is a great idea) but everything's all squashed, graphics are split in half, there's a 1pxl border all around songbird inside of the window, and all the menus are GONE. Can someone help me get my menu back? It's kind of important...

I just tried this and had the same problem (should have read your thread). Try this: if you haven't closed your window try installing the feather again, this will bring up the add ons window. After that, cancel your reinstall, and you can see a place to uninstall the nativebird feather. Once you do that and restart you're back to normal. Good luck.

This is a great idea by the way, I wish it worked better with Ubuntu, it would make songbird fit the rest of my system theme and would integrate better with Compiz. Let me know if you need a screen shot or a test machine or something. Peace.

Looks great!

One fairly major bug I'm experiencing is that the Tools > Options dialog renders incorrectly. The tabs on top end up being vertical instead of horizontal.
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, but my window manager is Emerald

Do you plan on updating this feather once they make Gonzo more stable? While I do like having Songbird look like the rest of Ubuntu, I really miss the new layout.

Sorry but I don't have time to work on that anymore, so I won't add Gonzo layout (but of course if someone sends me a patch, I'll add it).

i have t-ish gtk theme installed and it looks nice, but the bars above the album art panel and the right panel shows vertical to the right side of the panel and take like half of the space of the panel, can you tell me how can i fix it?

There is a lot of bugs because NativeBird still use the old Rubberducky layout. The best would be to create a new version based on Gonzo, but I don't have time for the moment.

I recommend you add the tag "feathers", because under tools>feathers>get more feathers, it looks up the tag "feathers". Just a little recommendation... :)

I don't know what it looks like on windows/linux, but for Mac, instead of making it look like iTunes, you could make it look native using other elements from OS X. Try taking cues from the Finder and Safari.

Hi, running Songbird 1.2.0, Build 1146 (20090616030029) and works perfectly, I just changed install.rdf for 1.2.0. and it can be all compiz wobbly now.

Thank you!
