Okay, one small remark: Is it possible to provide a selectable option (preference setting), that when one hits the download button to get the "save to..." menu to select a folder, where the track should be stored. Currently, it automatically saves the files to my music library root.

Oh, it seems that tracks only Last.fm-lovable after one download them. That's maybe a minor issue ;) However, it would be nice if this feature would also be possible without downloading the track. Please keep also in mind that not every track is downloadable.

[lastfm-love] I've been able to "love" remote tracks in the past and tested this out with the addon as well. Top 3 here, http://last.fm/user/eresair/library/loved, were loved SoundCloud tracks from Songbird.
Persisting the "loved" state in Songbird itself is complicated and kind of a PITA. Consider the following:
1) Love a track in the dashboard
2) Dashboard refreshed
3) Play the same track from #1
At step 3, you' won't see that you've previously loved this track (i.e. <3>t see an easy way to resolve this. So, for now, making do with a loved track being scrobbled to Last.fm will have to do.

Thanks a lot for your response kurt. It seems that it was somehow an temporarily issue or specific issue with tracks that are downloadable, however, which I didn't have downloaded at the moment of "loving" (;)). Maybe it relies on the persitent "loved" state issue in Songbird. Anyway, this is generally a very good workflow / UI now. I like it very much.

Hi there. Just downloaded and installed this one. But all i get is the waveform displaypane showing the soundcloud logo, and a small soundcloud icon in the bottom right. But nothing happens when i click it so i can't log in. I see you have a radio tab on the left side menu, i don't have that? Please help out, eager to try this one out.

Ah, nvm. I solved it, guess it's a bug tho.
I had to install the BirdTune extension, because that gave me the Radio tab on the left side menu which i didn't have. Then i installed Soundcloud once again then it popped up, and the bottom right icon became clickable. :)

Ive installed this app but it doesnt show me the dashboard and favourites tab under the soundcloud tab in the radio section of songbird. Its just the plain soundcloud tab and when i click it, it does nothing. Is there a certain way that i have to link my soundcloud account to songbird? So that I can play my favourites on it

Can you clarify what you mean by "it does nothing"? Does the SoundCloud page as displayed in the above screenshots not show? If so, what are you seeing instead? Is anything SoundCloud-related reported in the error console?
For logging into your account, you should be able to do so by clicking on the SoundCloud icon in the lower right hand corner of the status bar. A panel should pop up to allow you to login, ultimately giving you access to your favorites and dashboard. If the panel is failing to popup, I'll need more details (i.e. errors reported in console, other addons installed, possibly an attached profile) in order to better troubleshoot the issue.
Note that I've also filed an issue in github, gh-20, so feel free to add information there (although I'd prefer to continue the thread in github, adding info in the comments here is fine as well if you so please).

hi, i cant login either, when i click login on the popup, it opens an internet window saying:
"We can't verify that you came here from a page or application affiliated with Songbird. Please make sure that this is the case before approving access."
so i click connect after verifying my details, it says account connected, but then doesn't actually log me in. The icon in the bottom right remains grey, and still prompts me to login. :/

Hm, it seems like you already logged in to SoundCloud in Songbird, otherwise you wouldn't be seeing that message... Can I see a screenshot of the successful login page?
Also, can you try the following:
1) Open a new tab and go to "about:config"
2) Filter by oauth_token. Is there a value set there? I just need to know if the string value is present, so don't bother pasting the exact value. If you could try clearing/resetting the preference value and doing the login again, that'd be helpful as well.
In any case, I opened an issue for this on GitHub, gh-22. If you could add details there, that'd be preferable.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully we can find a resolution. Cheers.

I looooove this add-on. The only problem so far is that i can't seek forward. The playhead resets to 0:00 and the song starts from the beginning. That's somehow annoying especially if you listen to mixes. But hey, aside from that... AWESOME!

Thanks for the love. That constraint is really in Songbird mediacore in how the app handles remote streams. It still should work when you seek, but it may be really slow to respond. If you're up to it, you may want to try tweaking a couple of poweruser preferences to make seeking more responsive;
songbird.mediacore.output.buffertime (default: 2000, in ms)
songbird.mediacore.streaming.buffersize (default: 128, in KB)

Can you make it so when you play a track you can see the album art that is associated with the song? I know you have lots on your plate with this awsome app. but i do love my album art since im not feting the ld sleves or jewl cases with the downloads. Again great app now you got the bugs worrked out for me to play.

I see that it is in the picture. Maybe these songs don't have it in the meta data of the song. but I dont see how a stream would affect that.
Again awsome app. cant wait till I am able to delete itunes off this mac. Song Bird all the way. iTunes go away.
