Creates M3U/PLS Playlists of the playlists in Songbird. It contains the full path of the file so the playlist can be played by any other audio player

Creates M3U or PLS Playlists of the playlists in Songbird.
It contains the full path of the file so the playlist can be played by any other audio player!
Important: it works only with windows so far. This will be fixed in the next release.
Features:
- Creates M3U or PLS Playlists of normal songbird playlists
- Creates M3U or PLS Playlists of smart playlists
- Easy to use (select playlists -> choose output folder -> click button -> done)
- Full Path in the M3U/PLS File
- Extended M3U format with duration, title and artist information
Now you can play your songbird playlists with other audio players like windows media player, mediamonkey, winamp and many more.

Hi! Could you tell me what is the difference between your addon and the Playlist Export Tool?
It is not compatible with last versions but it is working, maybe you can take some inspiration of it.

Hi Vince. Thanks for your question, I guess many others will ask the same...
But you answered the question in the next sentence^^. I only develop this addon because the Playlist Export Tool isn't available anymore. I've never been able to use the Export Tool, because I've started with version 1.7.3. So I don't know how the addon worked. Another reason why I'm developing this addon is that the Export Tool has not been updated for months, so I think the developer isn't active anymore. It's my intention to add more features in the addon, it's not a final program at all.
What do you like on "Playlist Export Tool" or what do you dislike on my addon? Is it the sidebar integration or the UI? It's difficult to take inspiration of other addons because I don't know which are the good parts in it. Maybe you or other users could make some suggestions to make my addon better.
And finally I found a third reason :) (a personal one). I wanted to learn how to develop an addon. I'dont know anything about XUL and very little JavaScript^^. With this addon I learn much about those technologies.
Hopefully you understand the text. For sure, you've realised that English isn't my mother language :)

sorry if this isnt clear.
Its an addon for the sidebar. Just move the cursor to the right side of the songbird window and click the arrow there or just drag the slider to the left. you should now see a sidebar. Maybe there's another addon active. To change it klick the arrow(or folder) in the left upper corner of the sidebar and choose my addon from the list. Now the addon should display inside the sidebar.

This worked beautifully.
After weeks of torment with Songbird's painfully slow and hardly working interface, unchanging after updates, reinstalls, et cetera, I was about to face the prospect of uninstalling it completely and rebuilding all my playlists in something else. But finding this add on, and having one last ditch attempt to save my library finally worked.
It took about an hour and ten seconds to do this. An hour for songbird to install the add on and restart. Ten seconds to export the playlists. Absolutely gorgeous.
Now I can go find a lightweight, functioning music player, safe in the knowledge that I don't have to spend hours remembering my playlists.
I thank you profusely for your good work, and only wish Songbird itself worked better. Maybe you should join the team :)

I'm happy that i could help you with this addon. I was unsure how the dowloaders think about my addon. Because there are no ratings for my addon yet. But now I know that my addon is useful for one user at least :)
I'm a bit astunished about your songbird performance problem. I think it depends on the hardware and the operating system and how many addons you've installed. Personally speaking sonbird functions brilliant on windows 7 and 2gb ram. But my sister with her xp client and 512 ram has also performamce problems. It's really a pitty that these users have to find other music software!
Maybe you try media monkey or winamp if you're using windows, but don't even touch itunes :)
Well I think the somgbird team makes a really good job. For non programming people it's difficult to know how much work it is to create a software like songbird. My addon is just a little piece of software not difficult to write. So I'dont think I should join the team ;)

Great plugin, but I have a few requests.
1/ Update it to be compatable with 1.8 - I mean is been a few days now ;o)
2/ I use songbird fullscreen on my netbook (1024x600 res) but this means I can't access the create playlist buttons or see the log. Allowing the playlist panel to be made smaller than its current minimum, or adding a scrollbar to the panel if its larger than the screen would really be great.

I need the playlist for my phone (drive f: when connected to windows)
m3umaker output folder: f:\mymusic
instead of:
f:\mymusic\artist\album\song.mp3
f:\mymusic\artist\album\song2.mp3
I want:
artist\album\song.mp3
artist\album\song2.mp3
Maybe easier to allow user to specify find/replace, for example:
Find: "f:\mymusic\" Replace with: ""

While I agree that could be a useful feature I just wanted to point out (in case you don't know) that the playlist files generated are simply text files so any text editor with a find/replace will allow you to edit them.
You probably knew this already but I thought I would mention this workaround in case you didn't.

in OS X Snow Leopard, the output have backslash and not slash and is missing the first slah. This is a *nix system.
