Page Store Simon

Store web pages and associate them with media items

Page Store

Description

First (alpha) release of the companion to Text Store.

It adds a "Stored Pages" node in the service pane and Source and Source Title columns to the library media view. (Remove them if you don't want them, it won't put them back!)

The web page context menu ('right-click' menu) has new options under 'Store This Page...' to save the current web page under the Stored Pages node or on the now-playing media item, if any.

When a web page is stored, it is copied complete with formatting, images, scripts etc. from the web into the directory you specify in the Page Store Preferences Panel.

If you store the same page again the stored file will be updated, so media items always show the latest version.

You can drag a stored page from under the Stored Pages node and drop it onto a media item in a media view list or on to the now-playing faceplate to associate the stored file with one or more media items.

When a media item with a stored page is played, an icon (currently Page Store) is shown in the faceplate. Hover over the icon to pop up a preview of the stored page, click on the icon to show the stored page in a browser tab. Right click to show or delete the stored page.

Remove page from media item will remove the link from the media item and, if the page is not referred to elsewhere (under the Store Pages node or on another media item) will delete the stored page. Delete stored page will delete the file and remove all links to it.

There are icons along the top of the preview to Remove page from media item, Delete stored page, Show page in browser and Close preview.

Page Store is compatible with Songbird bookmarks. If you use Songbird Bookmarks to show the Bookmarks node, you can drag and drop bookmarks to the Stored Pages node to store the web page as a local file and vice versa.

Release Notes

Version 1.0.0.0

new version updated to run with Songbird 1.7.3.

I thought that the new service pane might cause some issues but I didn't find any. I've only had time to run a quick test - so let me know if you find any problems.
