I don't know if I understood the purpose of this right.
But if it should remember my selected songs or the selected artists (in filter pane) when going from the library (or playlist) to somewhere (e.g. "downloads") and back,
... then it is not working.

I posted a big comment in the getsatisfaction topic, with a more detailed description and two more suggestions.
Thanks for your work!

Guys like you are THE KILLER REASON to use songbird.
No other player I know has such a support
(where even the dumbest problem is cared about, even the craziest idea is worth talking about and so many free-time-developers trying to improve it)

Two feature requests:

1.) When Songbird is closed and restarted: Is it possible always to bring up the last played song on top the current view ?

Problem description / steps to reproduce:
- scroll through your library. You will always get dislplayed let's say the last 15 songs.
- play one of the songs in the middle of the current view (e. g. song number 8 from the current view).
- close and restart songbird.
- the previous 15 songs are displayed again, but you don't know where you stopped your playback last time (remember: it was song nr. 8 from the current view)

Feature request:
- after a restart of Songbird, always bring up the last played song on top the current view (i. e. display song nr. 8 now on top of the list ==> song number 8 is now song number 1 in the current view).
Then you know where you have to continue your playback :-)

2.) Can you please provide a button to jump to the current played song ?

Problem description / steps to reproduce:
- play a song from the library.
- scroll to somewhere else.
- if you want to go back to the currently played song, you have to search for it manually

Feature request:
- Provide a button for jumping (= automatic scrolling) back to the currently played song
