Charcoal-Colored feathers

A new skin for Songbird 1.2.0. It's inspired by multiple different dark itunes skins. Kind of a mixture, of what I liked best about them. (But the graphics are made by me from the scratch.)
It has some small UI-changes, you probably have to get used to. For example:
1.) Toolbar is hidden for playlists by default. However, you can pin it with the button in the status-bar.
2.) The Player-Controls are set to the top automatically. To move them down again in another feather, go to the menu, click "View" -> "Player Controls" -> "Display at bottom".
3.) File Menu only appears on mouse-over.

* Removed automatic switch of Player Controls Position. (FYI: The next version of Power Tools - Addon will include a better feature, that will fill this gap)

* Added custom style for BirdTabs - Addon. (Make sure you select "current feather" in the BirdTabs-Options!)
* JAR-Packaged the addon => 60% smaller size & more efficient.

About the corners: This feather only looks good with player controls on top (that's why it should automatically switched to the top). Mostly because the window-resizers are highly modified, to keep them invisible but still working. But because of some other mods, too.

Thanks a bunch. I'm just miserable at coding. No patience for it. I'm all up for making something in Gimp though, so if you're ever feeling lazy i won't mind doing a mundane chore for you :)
Btw, this kind of makes me nostalgic for Rubberducky, i think just maybe i could redo Glossy Coat original on this layout and pick up from where i left off.
@Lib53: Well, if you want to give something back, I could need a No-AlbumArt Image for Q4 ;-) The current one (the EP) is totally boring and has a crappy moiré effect if scaled... Do you have any fancy ideas? :-) But it has to be non-glossy :-D And only if you have time & whim for it.
And yes, Glossy Coat is predestinated for this more rubberducky-like layout.
You want Album art? I'll get right onto it. And while most, wait, all of my work is glossy, i think i can do some smooth gradients. And sorry for the late reply, i was getting underneath this skin and getting all my old glossy coat stuff together.
Sorry to double post, but a quick question: Does it have to be a CD, or can i do what i usually do and use a music note?

this is nice. i like how you made it how YOU wanted to make it... with the media flow, grid view buttons, and the eq and pane-button-closer in the status bar... SWEET!

What i don't like however is that it automatically positions my faceplate in the top, when I restart, even if I've changed it to be in the bottom...
@Saebekassebil: You are right, that behavior isn't smooth... I will try to add a function to Pane-Buttons Add-on, to remember the position for every single feather. Than I'll deactivate the auto-switch in Q4.
@LIB53: Doesn't have to be a CD. My original idea was an LP, with the headphones-songbird as the label in the center, but I couldn't do it nice :-/ But Notes are nice, too! Whatever you think is fitting good.
@TheOneRing: Not sure about shortcut-key... never did this. Maybe I look into it, but after the 1.0 final.

I made some covers, but i really couldn't think of anything much. Here's a link: http://www.box.net/shared/h1go05qzms. Also, i feel that mediaflow looks better when it's black. Just my opinion though. The covers that i made look just fine when scaled down, so i guess that's at least a plus.

Atreiu. This is just magnificent. The layout is so much better. It looks like the classic rubberducky skin. I miss the old player....
This is the first player Ive seen that actually modifies the layout of the player instead of just modifying colors and graphics. I hope you start something/
This is absolutely beautiful, these are the themes I'd love to create for my computer (it runs Ubuntu), but unfortunately can't. I love the layout, with the grib, mediaflow, etc. buttons, and the design of the tabs, very smooth, very well made, my compliments on this masterpiece.

How can I choose my media views? The button to select them is gone. I still have a couple choices that have their own button but how do I access the others?

hey i am absolutely in love with this layout and i dont think the feather in general is half bad either, however i was wondering if you could make a feather thats lighter with the same or similar awesome layout and certain things such as the window border returned to the system?
@robmeofmyboredom: sorry, probably not in the next few months, I'm busy enough with maintaining the existing add-ons. But the good news is: everybody is free to take the layout and make new feathers out of it. So maybe another developers jumps in... :-)

How did you change the layout? I tried some stuff in DOM inspector and moved things around, but i don't know what to do after that. Is it possible to save and commit those changes? I'm asking because i don't think anyone is interested in Project Focus so it seems that I'll have to create it myself.

I like the design of the slide bars, but the center dragger is just a little too thin for me. Most of the time I can grab it, but sometimes I just miss it. Might be worth thickening the sliders just a smidgen?
Any interest in adding an option for this plugin to make the Media Views in the 4 box row at the bottom be configurable? I think four choices is about the right size, but it would be cool if I could pick which 4 I wanted down there...
At first I didn't think I was going to keep using this feather, but I kept coming back to it and haven't left in a while. Great job.

anyways, i'm working on hacking up a gtk theme based on this for my debian box, and thinking about releasing it when it's done. with proper credits, of course, and if it's allright with you.

This is the most successful skin for Songbird yet. I have one problem that is really annoying, though, and I'm fairly sure it is the skin that is malfunctioning.
(Windows Vista x64) I can open Songbird and it loads, but when I click the corners to resize the window, it sets the height to a number smaller than the current size and it will not resize to anything else. I can move left and right and resize it that way, but not vertically. I'll post a link to a video upload...need a few minutes to install and use my screen recorder.
aha, it's another plugin. Earlier I thought I had tested multiple Feathers--seems that I hadn't. I just retested this on my Vista distro after seeing that there was no problem on my Windows 7 RC 7001 with it. Thank you for such a great theme. The design is amazing!
Songbird has some problems to view Q4 correctly... The searchfield isn't in the window, if I activate another skin.
I have the same problem as freaktechnik above. However, if I delete the file localstore.rdf from my profile, then the problem is fixed until I next restart songbird. Strangely this only started happening about a week ago, and as far as I can tell I haven't changed anything or installed other addons to cause the problem. Any ideas?

Amazingly awesome. I just have to tell you that this is really cool. Now i'm going to be very honest here. I'm not a very big fan of the way the hovers and stuff behave, and how some of the graphics turned out (i'm a perfectionist. Ignore me about graphics) but the layout is just better than perfect. I've always been very weak on coding, but i think i can give myself a little credit for being good with Gimp. So what i'd like to ask is: Will i be able to utilize this layout for building feathers?
Also, some bugs here on Ubuntu 9.04 32bit. Here's a screenshot
The bugs were some weird bottom corners. I was going to say the menu wasn't visible, but then i reread the description.
