Medium Player support:

It is just a fact. I'll not upload my medium player officially, I just add this link to download it. Enjoy!

Note: I kept the inactive splash animated PNG image what originally made for my Chrome feather. 'Cause I like it. :P

Attention!
Input selection color is changed from default to orange. It loads only when Songbird starts, a feather changing doesn't enough (it's a Songbird core behavior). Unfortunately I couldn't change the selection input color of Comment and Lyrics (LyricMaster, MLyrics) in the Metadata Editor.

Works with Songbird 1.8.0 - 1.10.0a

- video control panel stylizing,
- polishings and fixings on service-pane, and on device manager (info-pane),
- and some other minor fixings, code cleaning.

Love the colours, very summery and bright. I wonder if the bevel/gradient at the top is a little too deep though, I think it might look better if this wasn't quite as deep. Otherwise, it's great work, and looks really nice.

Hi Pure Player - Skinners ;)

I just want to leave you guys a note about Pure Player:
After the last update, there are some small changes in the Pure Player Skins necessary. Please take a look at this Wiki entry, where I documented the changes I made to my skins. You might not need to repeat all these changes, but some of them for sure.

Thanks!

one question: can you implement the stop button for shoutcast?

over 2 years ago
Hiromacu
Hiromacu

@martin_bighomer: The stop button already implemented, just it looks exactly the same as pause/play button as looks (for the style).
Do you want a separated stop button? Unfortunately my Java script and XUL knowledge isn't enough. Actually I'm thinking about to reanimate the Pause/Play/Stop Buttons add-on, but I have to learn more. :P

You need to tag your feathers with "feathers". The tag "feather" doesn't get it onto the list of feathers.

Hi Hiromacu
Here is a new very promising addon, freshly baked. I'd love to see an orange bookmark ;)

@calvin123: :)

@klint: I checked the code but unfortunately Simon used xul (not css) to handle the bookmark icons and he didn't marked them all via id or class like the icons for last.fm are market via id.

So in this case I don't know how could I redirect the icon images. I don't know so much about xul, I'm not a big programmer. If you have any solution please let me know. Or should suggest Simon to add id for every icons. :P

Hi Hiromacu
Thanks for the last update.
I've noted 2 glitches though:
- in CDRip view, the "Rip" check-boxes do not display on the left
- and still in the CDRip view, metadata cannot be edited via option, while it works with default feathers.

over 2 years ago
Hiromacu
Hiromacu

@klint: OK! You are right about the check-boxes (will be coming in the next update), but the View Metadata command didn't work to me too (in the CDRip view), even if I try it in a new profile with Gonzo (default). And the View Metadata command in the File main menu is disabled (in the CDRip view), even if I select a track. So I don't know what should I do.

My system is: Win XP MCE (SP3), Songbird 1.4.0b2

@Hiromacu
Thanks for the update :)
Do you still have the "Edit metadata" hidden? It works for me, but there is a problem with one extension that delete the bar at the bottom of the view where buttons are located! If yes, try with a new profile and only the Orange, Gracenote and CD Device extension?

By the way, the check-boxes are there now in beta4, but they are still missing in their faded version during ripping process!
Thanks

Hiromacu

@klint: Your welcome!

There isn't "Edit metadata" at all, there is only "View Metadata" in beta2 Windows XP/Vista version. They changed its name and it's moved from 'Tools' menu to 'File' menu. And yes, it's hidden in the 'File' menu (in CD RIP view of course) even if I select a track. And no, the bar at the bottom with the buttons (View Metadata and Lookup CD Info) isn't deleted. I can push it but nothing happen. As I as wrote before I tried it in a new profile, and yes, only with the Orange, Gracenote and CD Device extensions, but the Metadata Editor didn't show up.

I can't see any fading during ripping process even if I try it in a new profile only with Gracenote and CD Device extensions. In the Nightly Builds website (http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Developer/Articles/Builds/Nightly_Builds), there is only 1.4.0b3 version, I don't see any beta4. But in the latest builds site (http://developer.songbirdnest.com/builds/trunk/latest/) there is 1.5.0a-1308.
So I'll install that. :P

over 2 years ago
Hiromacu
Hiromacu

@klint: I tried 1.5.0a-1308 but it's far from usable (terrible slow) So I installed 1.4.0b3. Now I see what you spoke about. Looks like this fade effect (disabled state) of check-boxes is came in beta 3. About the bar at the bottom: yes in beta 3 it's disappeared. But I know witch add-on causes to me: More of the Same. When I disabled it, the bar at the bottom is appeared me again.

Now everything work (disabled state of check-boxes, View Metadata option, bar at the bottom).
I'll update it ASAP.

@Hiromacu
Oh sorry!
The beta 4 I was talking about is actually the latest nightly on the branch.
Here: http://developer.songbirdnest.com/builds/Songbird1.4/latest/
with addons here: http://developer.songbirdnest.com/builds/Songbird1.4/latest/addons/
And thanks for the update.
By the way, More of the same did not solv the missing bar. There must be another extension as well!

@Hiromacu
I'm testing the soon-to-be-released Korn nightlies and it appears that the feathers developed up to 1.4.0 release need changes (the panel management has changed and breaks panels with "old" feathers).
I was given this indication for you by Mike, it's gobbledygook to me, I hope it won't be for you ;)

Quoting Mike:
"If you want to give your favorite feather devs a heads up, point them to here:
http://timeline.songbirdnest.com/client/changeset?new=16326@branches/Korn/feathers/purplerain/chrome/skin&old=15628@branches/Korn/feathers/purplerain/chrome/skin
(changes up till today) . They can pick and choose what exactly they want to update(but the display panes, splitters, navbar, and new/ modified images are the most important changes)"

Hi Hiromacu
I know that a lot of people like the narrow grippy, but I personally find them visually unattractive (text or grippy within bars are too close to the borders and to the text above...) and difficult to grasp.
Would there be a way to select the 3 grippy bars width by a setting? Even a hidden about:config setting?
Thanks :)

over 2 years ago
Hiromacu
Hiromacu

@klint:
About appearance: It's matter of taste. Personally I like these narrow splitters & grippies (of course 'cause I made them) but I understand if somebody don't.

About the difficult grasping: Splitters & grippies far wide enough to grasp easily with a mouse or a pen tablet (what I personally use). Width of scroll-bar are the same just the feeling is different because they have default cursor instead of grab.

Sorry but I don't intend to make them to wider. In my sight Purple Rain's wide splitters are totally wasting of space. I really don't like them at all. Additionally unfortunately I'm not a programmer I can't make it to settable. Sorry...

over 2 years ago
Hiromacu
Hiromacu

@klint: But I'll change the width of splitter-vertical-gripper and height of splitter-horizontal-gripper by 2px wider to be fit into the splitter (for the better easier usage). And I going to find a better appearance for you.

over 2 years ago
klint
klint

Thank you, yes, that will do it :)
(and I understand your first answer, no problem!)

over 2 years ago

@klint: Done! I chose the easiest way to the appearance. I just erased one line from the grippers' default state to keep distance from borders. I hope don't mind. :P

klint

Thanks Hiromacu, it's ok now for those 2 grips. But (I'm never pleased, ain't I?) for the artwork panel, check here: http://prntscr.com/2xv4
I think that one or two pixels are missing about the "En séléction" text, don't you think?
But it's a detail..so, only if you agree, and in a next version with other things :)

I'd like to make Coolclock pick up colors from any feather to color a new Feathers clock face I will make.

Could you suggest suitable songbird UI elements I could read feather colors off? There can be up to 7 colors (for mainbackground, large and small indicators, hour, minute and second hands and a dot on the second hand) but I they needn't all be different.

The clock face will be displayed on the control bar so will appear against whatever the feather has colored that.

Let me know what you think.
