very good !

FireTorrent is an extension that allow you to download torrents in Songbird.
This extension is a port from the Firefox Extension here : http://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/10931
It works on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
With this extension you can download songs, and have them added automatically to your library with the Watch Folder feature of Songbird.
Download responsibly.
A bug in Songbird, made the songs added in library before they are completely downloaded :
bug 10275 - [watchfolders] Elegantly handle active bittorrent downloads from external applications.
Update 1.0.7 - 12/21/09
- maxVersion bumped to 1.6.0a (for Songbird 1.4.1 Compatibility)
very good !
Principe vraiment interessant!
Thanks so much GeekShadow- I think that downloading music torrents in Songbird could really make things easier. I have a few suggestions that would improve its integration in Songbird. Since it is a port, I don't know how difficult it would be to add additional features, but would it be possible to allow the user to select specific files from the torrent to download? It can be important when you download discographies or collections of stuff. Also, could it be set up to use the Downloads area in the navigation pane, as well as/rather than the downloads window? I think that having things that you have to check on every once in a while like torrents would function better consolidated in this tab in the program rather than the separate download window. Someone should port the Firefox addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/26 over to Songbird to make it easier to keep track of your torrents/large downloads inside of the program while playing music.
all right. what's wrong with me? i'm not seeing where Fire Torrent shows up in Songbird. can anyone help a brother out? thanks!
i agree with tdmurphy 110%!!
Does this support IPv6?
One function that's soooo essential but missing here, is to have a downloads folder and a (move to) finished downloads folder. With Songbird set up to automatically organize my music and the downloads folder within the main music folder, Songbird constantly bombards me with errors as it's trying to categorize the files during download.
Otherwise, this is an absolutely killer add-on!
Many thanks
ok, sort of works great, but recently has this weird bug where any torrent i'm downloading rapidly slows from whatever speed it was going at to nothing. I tested the same torrents using Transmission (I use Ubuntu 9.10) to see if it was the torrents, but they all come in fine... any ideas? i really want this to work as it would allow me to divorce myself from iTunes... Also, i agree with JuniorRobot...
I'm not sure how to access the app,
when i download a torrent file i try to open it with fire torrent but nothing happens
I don't know how to use FireTorrent D: How do I use it..?
how do you access the add on? does it appear in songbird or do you need to go to an outside site in order to download files?

This is excellent! It gives me hope for Birdtorrent.
