Why use it in my 1.0 ?
thanks
The first Album Art Fetcher for the Songbird 1.1 version.
This will fetch album art from the amazon web size.
In versions prior to 1.3 you will need to modify the songbird.artwork.* preferences in the about:config (type "about:config" without quotes in the address bar).
Add missing component file. Sorry about that :).
Why use it in my 1.0 ?
thanks
Hm, how can i start it?
Maybe you should change the min version... In Songbird 1.0 the add-on is marked as installable. Maybe it is instalable but as mentioned not usable. I think this could avoid some irritations.
+1 Angryman
I would just consider it a nice tease. I am guessing that this just saves him one extra step, since 1.1 is coming out soon and stevo has so many projects. So we should probably give him a break. Look to the right at the many 'Other Add-ons by stevo'.
Thanks so much stevo!
What are the advantages of using this as a priority over the default last.fm fetcher? Are there generally bigger artwork sizes (which i would prefer)? Is there a speed difference?

same question here
I've downloaded a 1.1 nightly, so I do have the "Get Album Artwork" under Tools.
Is it supposed to work for music played from DAAP share? I only get the dashed-line outline of an empty album,

sorry for the dup :)
Any way to get it to save to folder.jpg as well as to metadata and the SB database? Also, I assume there will eventually be some way to choose between different fetchers other than through about:config?
Thanks for the response. Should I open a wishlist item somewhere re saving to folder.jpg, or is that already in the queue? It would be quite useful because when I copy folders to my iPod running Rockbox, it is the only way the album art would come along for ogg files.
hey stevo
where can i download songbird 1.1 from?
songbird RULES!!!
Does it fetch for Japanese songs from amazon.co.jp? That was one function I was looking for in Songbird.
I know you are still working on the fetching, but just in case it slipped by you :)... when pulling album art that does not have a match, it does not leave the album blank. Instead it fills it in with the most recent added album art. TO clarify, If I downloaded Bob Marley's art, and teh next one I try to download is Michael Buble, and there is no Michael Buble Art... it would fill the art as Bob Marley. Incidentally, I am not able to fetch Michael Buble's art automatically, apparently because his name has the accent over the 'e', and so it gives no result.
I've tried this add-on with several versions of 1.1pre including some alpha releases and the beta1 release. Whenever I click on Get Album Artwork it starts scanning the first file with a dialog saying "Scanning 001" and then suddenly Songbird crashes. :-(
How are you supposed to edit which site to pull album art from?
I can't find any "options" settings for either the regular album art fetcher or your addon
:(
Got it.
Thanks! Someone should write an explanation of how this works, since it's pretty confusing at the moment. I guess it's still in beta, so it's being worked on.
Why is this add-on listed as working for 1.0 if it does not work until 1.1? It is confusing and unhelpful. Especially since 1.0 is still the stable version! Or maybe I'm missing something...it definitely isn't working for me (in 1.0)
"@rolans This is in the about:config page, sorry but there is no UI for the album art fetcher configuration yet."
ups........
I have Songbird 1.1 and the album fetcher is not working.
This should be the default album fetcher, gives MUCH better artwork!
I just downloaded and installed this plugin, and it worked pretty well. My major complaint is that it too 8 hours (yes, literally) to finish downloading! And, because of the "fetching" dialogue box, I couldn't do anything else at all with Songbird.
Is there a way to make that box not interfere with the other functionality of Songbird when it runs?
Can I have 1.2 (and 1.3.0a) compatibility.. Thank you!
hi. i'm a new user of Songbird, and i'm using it to sync my iPod. I only just discovered this great add-on, and my music library now has album art. :D
but how do I sync the album art to my iPod? right now my iPod is very boring without album art..
I've songbird 1.3b1, but I can't find it, are you sure it works on 1.3?
I'm not sure if the issue is with this add-on or some sort of conflict with the built-in cover art finder, but hardly any of the artwork corresponds with the correct band. In fact, the artwork will even vary between songs within the same album. If you're familiar with this anomaly and/or know of an easy way to correct it, I'd love to hear it. This alone has nearly convinced me to revert back to using iTunes, and I'd really rather not.
stevo man! you are a life saver! its working fine!
It still downloads very small covers that look horrible (like with default plugin)
>This is in the about:config page
where is it on mac version?
and I still have the same bug as deOmega about filling the first empty cover with last one used
Ok, I have found where the about:config
but it goes like this - if I turn lastfm fetching off (songbird.albumart.lastfm.enabled = false) no cover art coming at all. From this I assume that amazon cover fetcher is not working at all, and cos I still get this tiny awfull looking 5 kb covers (when songbird.albumart.lastfm.enabled = true). Please Help!
Well, it dosen't work ! and this is why:
<error>MissingParameter<message>The request must contain the parameter Signature.</message></error>
I think Amazon has updated the API, here are more details:
http://mws.amazon.com/docs/devGuide/index.html?Signatures.html
From what i see in the code we don't create signature.
The signature requirement went into effect August 15. You might want to take a look at the Rhythmbox bug report http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=593163
stevo- how do you start the add-on? I have currently installed it and nothing happened, all the art is still the same. please reply quickly!
Don't know if I'm the only one, but this last version of Amazon fetcher does not appear anymore in the list of fetchers in the AlbumArt option screens. Using SB 1.4b1
Thanks
Thanks for making it available to songbird 1.5.0, you rock!!!
Still, I can't find a way to use it... Does it depends on Last.fm Album Art (wich doesn't work on songbird 1.5.0)? Thanks.
I was using version 1.2.0 and just like klint did not see the option in AlbumArt option screens. I uninstalled AlbumArt addon and now can't find the download anywhere to reinstall it. stevo where can we get the addon again?
Hi, I have sonbird version1.2.0 and version 1.0.9.0 of your add-on. I don't seem to be able to activate it. I've read your reply to razohanny and I can't find a way to trigger the addon since thatpane is not available in the options window.so could you tell me how can I get it to work please? thx
Np I managed to do it in about:config. Thanks for the add-on btw!
How does this work with Version 1.2 which has functionality to get album art? Same? Different? Hand in hand? Can you update the Description above to explain? Thanks!
Not sure I understand how this or even the built in fetcher is supposed to work. I right click on a file or album and nothing happens most of the time. At times, it works but I'm not sure this isn't because the art is already in the album folder and not because it's grabbing it from the internet.

Hi,
does it work only for the 1.1.0pre versions or can I install it on my songbird 1.0 ?
Can't wait to test it !!
