Beta development status!
Query the young and innovative Songsterr-Database for guitar tabs to your tracks.
If you want to query the Ultimate Guitar - Database, you should take a look at the BirdTab and the Guitar Tab - Addon.
Known Issues:
* Heuristic search slows down the checking, the more Songs you check. This can make Songbird become unresponsive during the check. That's why heuristics are automatically disabled for song-titles, if you check more than 400 songs. If you have no problem with an unresponsive Songbird, or if you have a very fast computer, you can try to set this limit higher in the advanced options (add-ons -> Songsterr -> options). I myself set it to 2500, which makes Songbird unresponsive for about 30sec., if i check my whole library
Planned features:
* Abort-Check Button (Workaround: close the Songsterr-pane to stop the checking.)
* Performance improvements on heuristic check
* Shortcut in the context menu
* Handle error on "no internet connection".

ValentinDREAN, currently they get 30-50 per day! (Most of them with Bass-Guitar, Drumlines, 2 guitars, etc.. :-) I hope this will get even faster, when their community grows... You can take a look at the feed with new Songs to get an impression of their speed... And you will see, that the Team are currently doing alphabetically. Artists from 0 to B are covered quite good already.
The good thing about it: when their DB is getting really useful, my add-on will be (hopefully) ready, too, hehe... I expect that to be in April.

Please report your performance/results on multiple-songs-check with the option "Find tabs for this track(s) only".
My testing-results are:

Good idea, in so far as I didn't know songsterr before.
I tried the multiple artist selection (for 4 artists) and it works fine ! Good job ;)

Maybe a suggestion :
For many bands beggining by 'the', the database of songsterr contains the band name without 'the', and I guess it is true for bands with 'the' in songsterr.
Could it be possible to do a search for the band name with and without 'the' ?

great idea! but...
i've looked through my songs and only the well known songs (iron man, can't buy me love, back in black etc.) can be found. I can't even find Welcome to the Jungle! Suggestion: have it search multiple tab sites and it could be used to its full potential.
www.ultimate-guitar.com is a good one.

@abaddis: Unfortunately ultimate-guitar (and every other tab-site I found) doesn't have an API, that I could query for songs. Please ask the ultimate-guitar - team to implement an API, to provide people like me an easy access to their database, then I can try to implement that.
Without an API, I would have to parse the web-pages, but that's way too much work (at least for me).
You still can use the websearch-addon to query ultimate guitar.

@atreiu: Yea, I've thought of it myself, but you can't event parse it! It's not valid code, so you can't dumb it in a document element...
So i thought of RegExp, but i suck at regular expressions so I gave up... :(

@Saebekassebil: Exactly. You basically would have to build your own parser based web-API, which is 1.) a lot of work, 2.) not easy, 3.) must be maintained (in case they switch templates). This is something, the guys from ultimate guitar could do better, easier and in half of the time. So I won't do it (especially not for a non-opensource commercial website with ringtone-ads all over it).
I probably would give it a try, if there would be an website like www.lyricwiki.org for tabs, but there is nothing like this. (correct me, if i'm wrong ;).

How to do i get to the bass Tabs?

@ginkoof: At the songsterr-page, you can click the mixer-tool to select an instrument. If your song has tabs for Bass available, you can select it there. Here's an example:
