I'm having the same problem... Can't really open the options dialog and thus can't test this add-on... I can't understand how mark32 tested it lol, I can't see anything new on the interface from this add-on...

Allows you to add/remove Filters from the filters columns in the Filter pane media view. I think I said filters enough there :).
Updated to the 1.1.1 release.

Just found it :P
I can confirm the other problems posted by mark32.
Also, I know this is a simple extension to change the filters but maybe you could add a different type of view filter. Like the Winamp one for the albums where it displays more album info like year, band, number of tracks and, of course, the album art. I could post a screenshot if you want...
I'm having another problem with this add-on: I only want two filters; artist and album but when I remove the 3rd filter in the preferences and refresh/restart, this is what I get:
Nice add-on!
I can copy the "frozen options" issues, but i don't think it has anything to do with this add-on, because I had it sometime before I installed this. Seems to be a general issue, to me.
Something like this.
Thanks for the bug fix, Stevo.
Thanks for fixing it, Stevo. Works great. Another excellent extension you’ve added to the mix.
Thank you
Thank you for the add-on, it seems to be working well.
Would you consider adding the possibility to use any tag as a filter (not just BPM, year, rating etc.). For instance, I use a "conductor" tag for the classical music tracks and it would be very handy to have a filter pane with it.
Thank you!
i gotta be a complete idiot but i can't find the options for this. under addons the option button for it is grayed out and i've looked EVERYWHERE for some place to change the filters...
Stevo, I just want to thank you for this addon.. I've been using this for a while, and I think I took it for granted for it's simplicity... But this is by far by favorite addon, I just use three main filters: Artist, Album, Track... Because I mainly listen to whole albums or such, it makes it really easy to find songs (So I'm basically treating Songbird as an iPod... Finding the artist I like, then the album, then playing some tracks)
Great Work! : )
Is there any chance that you could fix the bug where moving down to two panes still leaves you with three?
If you don't know what I mean, see etnlIcarus' post up there.
Important feature to have in the media management program. Did not see a feature like this included in any of the future RC/ versions.
Great add-on. Kudos.
Hi
Could someone please update this extension just to make it compatible with SB 1.1.1?
It would be very useful to solve the issue of Album Artist in Songbird (requested by many users).
Thanks :)
Yes, Pleeeeese update this Add-on. Thanx.
please update
i agree. this needs to be updated to work with the latest version. this will make songbird closer to being the way i wanted it. is it possible to over come the limitations in what the top panes filter by? for instance id like to make one of the top 3 sort the track name and eliminate the bottom pane.
Great addon, I had to manually edit about:config to get the Album Artist filter before this, much better now :).
I'm also seconding Nazgulled's suggestion about the Winamp-style filter-with-info. Or at least making it possible to sort the "Album" filter entries chronologically instead of alphabetically.
Woo-hoo finally!!! The genre list is gone.. woo-hoo..
Fantastic addon!
I just signed up to say that. Keep up the great work :).
how can i add own filter tags?
Yes sweet add-on, but is there any way to display custom tags as filters (i.e. tags not already included in the list in the options)? Thanks in advance. :)
Please update to 1.1.2. Thank you!!!!!!
Maybe you try 'Customize Filter Pane'
http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/1430
It incorporates and therfore substitutes stevo's 'ChangeFilters', and also adds nice options for the layout of the filter etc. Just great!
Stevo, you definitely seem to have a lot on your plate at all times, but I was wondering if you would be at all willing to take care of kattla's "customize filter pane" addon which you contributed to. If you hadn't read, kattla will probably not be maintaining the addon anymore, and a fair number of users (myself included) are at a loss without this feature. Bugfixes and new features are not really what are on my mind (they would be icing on a delicious cake, of course) as much as simply keeping the addon updated so that new versions of songbird can still download and use this functionality. An update to use the addon in Songbird 1.2 would be very much appreciated by me and the others who have used kattla's work. Would you be at all interested in helping us out?
PLEASE STEVEO! help meeeeee! I am just hating songbird's fliter pane lay out since 1.2.0 please fix "customize filter pane" ,please steveo wan kenobi... you're our only hope.
He already said he would help, don't be impatient.
oh good i was genuinely frightened... phew close one
This would been such a sweet addon! Only thing I miss from Songbird!
Do you have any time-estimate for when it will be compatible with 1.2? (no pressure) :)
I updated the Max Version to 1.2.1 if anyone wants to use it it is working for me I uploaded it to Rapidshare.com
http://rapidshare.com/files/249050538/changefilters-1.2.1.xpi
Decided to upload to the server till stevo updates will remove upon official update. http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/1644
That doesn't work for me, apparently the GUI is invalid.
editing the guid required deleting of the previous so i had to reupload tested it out, installing from the website and it works fine. http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/1645

It works, but there are some bugs. The biggest one I’ve run into is that when I click the options button from the Add-ons window the Options window freezes until I exit Songbird. Also took a restart, not just a refresh/reload to get the new panes up. Looks good once it’s up and works like a champ.
