Theme made to live together with Firefox on Vista.
Description
This theme mimics default look of Firefox 3 on Vista.
Highlights include:
- Native window borders. Meaning that you get fancy glass around the bird if you have Aero on!
- Firefoxy browser buttons!
- Miniplayer included!

More light blue and tad bit of gloss would make it look better in my opinion. Looks pretty good otherwise.

Yes its on my todo list to atleast make current blue parts more lighter.Did you notice any specific areas that might look better in light blue in your opinion?
Adding more gloss might actually also be idea worth exploring since buttons are currently very glossy but for example media control pane is quite dull so thanks for the suggestion.

I basically mean that there should be no purple. I never see any purple in the Aero UI. It should all be light blue to white. And a bit of gloss on the media control pane would definitely liven things up. Here's quick little edit i did in photoshop of what i mean:

Yeah you are right there shouldn't be purple but in my defense I develop most of this feather on Ubuntu based on screenshots:) Worry not now have Vista so I will be doing a makeover to colorscheme to match it perfectly to Firefox and doing a colorscheme for another feather according to wmp 12 on the same go.
I will surely try how glossy bar works while I am at it.

If you maximize the player is misaligned. Tested this with other feathers and it only happens with this one.

I think you should have a different background for the service pane other than pure white. That's just my opinion. And i repeat what FMG said about maximizing. The mini-player also needs some work, but I'm sure you know about that...... Good job otherwise. I'm kind of happy that you used Aero Bird to build this, because on of my goals as a designer is to get people to stop being so itunes-ish and to start making more creative themes. The lack of Aero style was also a bit odd to me, and i wanted people to notice it too.

Thanks for the info about maximizing but I'm not noticing anything that would stick to my eye..Could either one of you further explain the issue or provide screenshot?
LIB53 Thanks for the suggestion regarding the service pane. This is yet again great idea since it would make service pane easier to separete from other views so I will see if I can find the right color. Yes I was too thinking that sure songbird currently fits the environment right out of the box on mac but what about Windows users?

If I move the taskbar to the bottom, open songbird, then back top this problem goes away.

Thanks FMG I was able to reproduce that by moving my taskbar to top. I'm guessing that this is because I'm using native window borders but don¨t really know what to do fix it.
Does anyone who knows the bird have suggestions?

I just found that out. So if you make this perfect, you might just complete one of their goals for them.

Hey great job! Best vista theme out there.
My suggestions...
Try looking at what has been done for firefox with the glasser userstyle. Perhaps you can get glass navigation and playback areas to make it feel more like windows photo viewer and media player.
Replace the navigation icons with those from explorer.
Hide the menubar by default, like explorer.
Change the font to Segoe UI(or default)

You need to add the tag "feathers". I think you'll find a massive boost in popularity if you do that. Same goes with your other skin. I'm still waiting for an update too...;)

Do you have any blank buttons for shuffle and replay I would like to add a "button-queue.png" for the "Now Playing List" Add-on. I need to replace this button, here's the file and a preview of it,

Thanks for the compliment and suggestions! Glasser in Songbird would be neat indeed but unfortunately I don't currently have the know-how to to port it so the best for now would be to get the original author to port it... Regarding the other suggestions I am thinking keeping this feather firefoxy instead of explorish:)

I think that once firefox updates to 3.1 and songbird follows, we should be able to have glass no problem.
Since we can't have glass, I made a userstyle based upon your feather using the windows media background styles, which is the next best thing. I hid the menubar and changed the buttons as well. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to get the menubar to reappear after hitting tab using CSS, so you need to disable the style to use the file menu, which is a bit of a pain.

on bug i found: the menu under the title is not correct in the middle, it's to far at the title.
(hope you understand what i mean, my english is not so good, i'm from germany)

Any chance we'll see an update for 1.1? I really like this theme on Vista, unfortunately I'm not able to use it anymore. Perhaps I will have to look into creating my own.

This feather is incompatible with 1.2.x. Is there a hack to get around this while waiting for an update?

Answering my own question, you can use "incompatible" addons by adding the boolean extensions.checkCompatibility in about:config and setting it to false. Works like a charm, a lovely feather.
