Vinyl Album Art stevel
Does one thing and one thing only: changes the album art CD graphic to the awesomeness that is vinyl
Inspired by this thread on GetSatisfaction
By default it's red. There are other graphics of other colours bundled in the XPI. Pull apart the chrome.manifest and change the 'red' to 'orange', 'blue', or whatever else you like...
Very slick, and compliments a wide range of themes with the changeable color settings - and makes the missing art bearable! I'm pretty sure it's actually due to stretching of the pane (Album Art Manager does not stretch into a perfectly square shape, and instead stays slightly squished), but the record sometimes looks noisy or low quality. However, GREAT add-on and very unique :).
Thank you stevel!
Thx man, that rocks!
I love this extension the missing album art looks more chilled, but since i have gone to Songbird 1.1.1 it does not work anymore. Are you planning on making it run in the Sonbird 1.1.1?
Yup :) New version uploaded
This is kind of ugly, and for the geeks out there you can change your own default graphics in gonzo.jar. I have a suggestion. It would be neat if user could choose one of many vinyl-pics. I changed mine to this: http://peikko.homelinux.org/rolle-vinyl.png . Here is another one: http://peikko.homelinux.org/rolle-vinyl2.png . Stevel: feel free to use 'em.
I blurred out a little bit of the edges of the image and it looks better.
You can replace it with the file located somewhere like this:
and don't forget to change a line in chrome.manifest to use the white one:
override chrome://songbird/skin/album-art/default-cover.png chrome://vinyl_aa/content/vinyl_white_512.png
gracias esta machin
Not compatible with my version :(
says it's compatible with Songbird v1.2, but when tried to load Songbird disagrees.
I run 1.2 but it does not work here either.
how come i can't download the app?
Why is this greyed out?
It does work with Songbird 1.2. if you install Nightly Tester Tools and follow these steps:
1. Download Vinyl Album Art with your favorite browser (not via Songbird)
2. Drag the downloaded .xpi file to the songbird window.
3. Songbird will warn you that the addon is not compatible. Click on "Force Install" anyway.
4. Restart and voilá!
Force install... ??? where is it? I aint got any Force install button, how to activate it?
Oops... I should learn to read before posting!!!
Nightly Tester Tools Rules!!!
Nice now I got it installed. You know what would be great, be able to setup different colors for the vinyls or at least have it random. Anyways, this add-on is simple, yet awesome, thx guys!
Hi Stevel, I would want to translate this module to the Russian language. Please tell me your email, simply reply to email@example.com">my mail. Thanks, Marcis Gasuns.
To get work it's very simple.
Rename .xpi to .zip
Open install.rdf with vi, kwrite...etc
Change the entry: <em:maxversion>1.5.0a</em:maxversion>
with the version required.
Saved and add to the previos .zip
rename .zip to .xpi
And Install in songbird. Works perfectly
