One bug that I have is that when I right click in the task bar, then click away, the menu doesn't disappear and stays above all other windows. Though it works fine when I make a selection. I'm using Vista Business 32bit.

Great add-on though. I've been waiting for this, and if you could have it display in the tray while also miniplayer then you would provide support that iTunes doesn't even have.

I agree with all of the suggestions people have made so far. One thing that no one seemes to have reported, the options dialog title is weird.

And maybe I would suggest to name this add-on something simpler/friendlier. Like simply "MinimizeToTray Revived" or "MinTrayR". "MinimizeToTray revived (MinTrayR)" is too long and not very "friendly", if you know what I mean.

My suggestion would be to enable an option where Songbird is only in the tray and never on the taskbar (even when the program is open). That's the only feature I miss from Winamp.

Nice work.

I'd like to see songbird always in the tray like noname444 (if that's his real name...) suggests above. It's a pain to run Songbird in its minplayer view and still have it appear on the taskbar.

Also, a little bug: On a dual monitor system, if the player was on the monitor not showing the taskbar when it was minimised the taskbar menu appears on the other screen when right clicking the tray icon. (You can avoid this if you just minimise it on the screen with the taskbar on)

Whenever Songbird changes tracks it seems to steal focus and open back up from the system tray and jump back onto the taskbar.

It's stealing focus from the application I'm working in and it's really really annoying. Anyone else have this problem?

This extension is great. The one change I would like is for it to work when using the mini player. I don't need it in the taskbar since the mini player sits at the top of my screen on top of everything else.

Great add-on. The only suggestion I would make is to change the actual tray icon. Right now it looks more like a vomiting fish than a singing bird! Perhaps make some options for different icons.

I like this add-on and I think it's a great testament to the potential power of the Songbird community. When people are allowed to rip into a program and start to forge their own experience, great things tend to happen. Along that line of thought, has the developer of this add-on ever used AmaroK, the amazing music player native to KDE? AmaroK minimizes to the tray beautifully and offers a right-click context/control menu that is highly intuitive.

This is probably a whole different discussion for an entirely new add-on, but another AmaroK feature that you can access from the tray context menu is "Stop After This Track" and it is one of the primary reasons I can't make the switch away from AmaroK (or Linux for that matter) entirely. The dynamic playlist control--including scheduling a stop after a specific track--is just too good. Any suggestions as to where I should post this comment in the hopes that someone will work up this feature?

This is great!

The only thing I'd like to see is proper multiple monitor support -- I have two side by side monitors, with my taskbar on the right edge of my right monitor. When I right click the tray icon, the context menu pops up on the right edge of my *left* monitor, a full screen away from the icon!

Anyways, I love it!

Love this extension, except for one thing... when I try to open Songbird from the minimized tray, it doesn't open as an active window; it shows in the taskbar again, then when I click it it goes back to the tray, and the second time it works correctly. This happens about 99% of the time for me.

Doesn't work on Vista 32bit Songbird v1.2.0 or v1.4.0b3. It closes to tray but will not respond to mouse clicks. Has anyone seen this problem or know of a way to fix it? It hasn't been working for be for a wile and it is the best part of Songbird and I miss it.

Hi, I'm having a "mini-problem" with this addon...

When I click in minimize, it goes to the system tray, ok that works perfectly.
And the "mini-problem" is when songbird changes to another song, it maximizes and then I have to click again in minimize to put it back in the system tray, you know what I mean? :/

This is a great idea and pretty good add-on, but it conflicts with a lot of other add-ons.

Needs an update that FORCES minimizations when SB changes songs or if another add-on is used. Otherwise, it keeps popping back up which defeats the purpose of the add-on.

1) Open Firefox

3) Rename: mintrayr-0.5.3_WINNT_x86-msvc.zip
4) Edit install.rdf
a) change line 64 to: <em:maxversion>1.7.*</em:maxversion>
5) Rename: mintrayr-0.5.3_WINNT_x86-msvc.xpi
6) Open Songbird
7) File -> Open File... -> mintrayr-0.5.3_WINNT_x86-msvc.xpi
