Vertical Filters

Thanks for the addon. I am not seeing how to use it though.. unless i am missing something, I am not seeing an option to display it.

Personally though, i would LOVE this if it is doing what I am suspecting... I am anticipating it to be akin to the feature in mediamonkey to filter from the left pane.

I am using windows Vista, Songbird 1.0, RC2

oh, duh! It says filter pane, (beside)... so, found it. (deomega hides face)
It is a very nice option as I prefer the vertical view, but would also like the option to have this over in the left side panel in a collapsible format.

I am not too eager to post, since I overlooked the obvious initially.. but, this is an FYI post if it is the claim I am making is feasible.

Problem: I think that this somehow clashes with the 'Now Playing" addon.

My songbird never freezes,as far as this my ol' brain can recall anyway.
However, since i have installed this addon, often times (About 15 times today already), If i go to this filter view...I can play the songs ok... but if I close songbird and it reopens in this view, it stops responding when I try to play a song.

I then have to let windows shut the program down and restart it.
 At one point, I kept having to restart it because it would not play on restart, until I change the view from Vertical, then restart the program, and THEN go to the Vertical view.

SO, the only thing I did different today with songbird, other than download this addon, was to download 'now playing'.

Resolution: I removed the now playing addon, and it i s now working fine.
Keep in mind that 'NOW PLAYINg' was not in view when i was having the problems.
I do not know if it is even possible for there to be a conflict, but, I will keep this addon and leave off the now playing addon until later. So, you do not need to resolve it for me, if it is really an isolated incident.

Much nicer presentation this way. Since you asked, I would like the option to change the number of filter panes (I would like 1 filter pane and 1 media pane).

Thank you for the feedback, so now I will try to communicate with him.
The newest one from him is the one I was using, and just tried again... and again it froze.

I cannot tell you again just how much more friendly this is on my brain and eyes. I was just never able to get accustomed to the horizontal one... in songbird or any other player.

May I again plug for something collapsible over on the far left? :)

Here's an image for those who didn't believe it works. I don't get why the creator hasn't posted one yet, but whatever, this'll do.

I like this a lot more than the default top view. Is it possible to choose the number of filters yet? ie I want to get rid of the genre view.
