When a track starts playing this will focus it in the playlist if available.
This will focus on a track in the playlist when switching or playing tracks, if the playlist is not visible it will no switch to the playlist but will still focus the track.
Updated to 1.1.0pre version.

Whoa!
Thank you SO MUCH Stevo. Testing it right now.
Its not working :(
@Kurgen Hmm, well I have only tested it on the filter playlist. If you goto about:config and set songbird.focustrack.debug to true then you can see messages in the Error Console under messages.
I tried it on the filter pane too.
I'll do as you say and inform you asap
I get a lot of errors like this.
Error: [Exception... "'JavaScript component does not have a method named: "onTrackChange"' when calling method: [sbIPlaylistPlaybackListener::onTrackChange]" nsresult: "0x80570030 (NS_ERROR_XPC_JSOBJECT_HAS_NO_FUNCTION_NAMED)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Songbird/components/sbPlaylistPlayback.js :: anonymous :: line 1100" data: no]

Hope it helps.
Hi,
could you please add the ability to fucus the track in "Now Playling List" if this addon is installed?
Also it would be useful to make it the other way - start playing a focused song after the current one finishes.
Is it meant to switch from the tab I'm browsing in back to the library just to show which track it just focused on? Coz that's what it did for me.
Every time the song changes I get switched back to the library from whatever tab I'm in (as long as I'm still in Songbird, haven't been switched from another application over to Songbird).
It's not working for me too. Maybe you need to test your add-ons on Windows before releasing them ?
doesn't works
Not working for me either. Here's my error console message:
Error: [Exception... "'JavaScript component does not have a method named: "onViewChange"' when calling method: [sbIPlaylistPlaybackListener::onViewChange]" nsresult: "0x80570030 (NS_ERROR_XPC_JSOBJECT_HAS_NO_FUNCTION_NAMED)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Songbird/components/sbPlaylistPlayback.js :: anonymous :: line 1068" data: no]

this new update works fantastically for me! FocusTrack + MediaFlow = beautiful goodness!
It works great now with the most recent update. Thanks for the much needed extension. Hopefully this feature gets merged into trunk before release.
Thanks! Works great! This add-on is much appreciated.
does this addon focus on the track in the library playlist instead of a playlist manually created?
Works great with MediaFlow (http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addons/238)
This works great and should be listed under-have Songbird Add-ons.
Very nice addon. Just what I was looking for... wonder why the Songbird crew havent integrated this feature. :S
Anyways... good job!
Thanks!
@Siggaard - Actually I am part of the Songbird crew :)
This addon doesn't work with Songbird 1.0.0rc1, could you please update it?
An update to this add-on would be great. Or maybe a core implementation?
Most music players out there either focus the track that's being played, or offer a way to do it. I wish songbird could do something like this. :)
Ok, my bad, Songbird does enable you to go to the currently played track. You have to click the track name displayed in the player part.
awesome
Now works in 1.0 RC2, which is great. It works fine, but as with the “focus current track” functionnality (clicking the track name in the player part) the focused track is displayed either at the top or at the bottom of the list. Using one of these options every time would be great. Predictability is an important part of an interface's usability.
I would go with the focused track in the middle of the viewport, or at the top with maybe a few tracks shown above it for context. But anything is ok as long as it's predictable.
@florentv Well that is up to the media view, since each media view will highlight differently :).
