Mac Disc Burner nick kreeger
An extension that enables disc burning for Songbird
I whipped this extension up a little while back to demo and prototype disc burning on the mac using the native ripping API's. I've polished it up a little bit and posted up here for those interested.
To burn - simply add some tracks to a playlist and burn (File -> Burn Playlist).
Keep in mind this is very simple - there isn't any checking to see if a playlist will fit on an entire disc.
Anyone who is interested in picking this up and running with it, let me know and I can post the source somewhere.
@rotzbouw The extension is just a quick prototype I whipped up a while back - it unfortunately doesn't have much direction on "what to do".
The burn session assumes that there is a blank disc already in the drive before you burn. Also keep in mind that it will only burn things that quicktime understands (i.e. no FLAC).

I love songbird but its frustrating that I can't burn discs from it. I would highly appreciate it if you would put up a link to the download, or send the file to me directly.

I beg any developers to keep this add-on as simple and as useful as necessary, easy disc-burning with both data and audio cd formats. I use Songbird because it is finally becoming really better than iTunes and any other more complex audio players/library managers, therefore
I think it will have to be better or equal to the burning abilities in Apple's soft.

Hi I tried to install 1.2.0 on Ubuntu 9.04 but I got following error:
"could not be installed because it is not compatible with your Songbird build type (Linux_x86-gcc3)..."

Doesn't work just yet (on the latest macbook pro), but I hope this gets somewhere sometime soon.
Wouldn't it be nice (and a cool advantage to the itunes burn feature) to be able to just burn the current playlist? or an album per right-click via the browser)
