wanted to install it on 0.6, but it says it’s not compatible :(

Awesome for getting tricky add-ons to work! (Adblock Plus anyone?) Also useful for anyone tech-minded enough for alphas or nightlies.

I now can use Songbird 1.1.0PRE and all my old add-ons!

Hey that now I can use my old addons again... but I cannot install new addons that aren't upgraded for songbird 1.1 beta2 yet... so than I should have to install songbird 1.0 to download them, then install songbird 1.1 and use this addon.. but that takes a lot of time, so my question is, is there a way to install addons that are not 1.1 ready yet?

Go to version history of any add-ons and You can download even if uninstallable!
For example: http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/39/versions

To install add-ons that are not latest software release ready:
1.) Download an *.xpi
2.) Open it with WinRAR (right click -> Open With -> Choose Program -> WinRAR)
3.) There is an install.rdf file inside, open it with Notepad
4.) Overwrite code
     - from : <em:maxversion>1.0.*</em:maxversion>
     - to : <em:maxversion>1.1.*</em:maxversion>
5.) Save modification
6.) Install modified add-on

Be careful!!!
Modified add-on maybe cause crash or errors (memory problem etc.)!!!
Sometimes works sometimes not.
Actually I tried Song Notifier and it's working after modification.

But if you install this add-on (Nightly Tester Tools) you can do force install as well. :P
