This feather gives Songbird a native, Firefox look
Description
This feather gives your media player the look of Firefox (2.0). Check out the screenshot!
Flyerfox by default takes on an OS default look, but quite a lot of things were done by hand on Win XP. Therefore it probably doesn’t look so nice on platforms other than Windows (XP)... Plz post problems you find; I might be able to do something about them.
The default Firefox icons were made by Gerich &
Horlander.
The special Songbird Firefoxish icons were made by Onlyone (tx!). I
am aware of the fact that some icons aren’t changed yet;
hopefully that will happen soon.
Version 0.4.0 is a much improved version. On Windows XP it
should look much better (on other OS’es, it probably
doesn’t). If someone knows where I can place a progressmeter
for the song, plz comment; it really lacks now.
Version 0.3.1.0 adds suport for 0.4 and drops support for 0.3

I really like this feather, except for the playback controls.
Can you say what you think is wrong with it? I am not fond of the music player part (play controls and faceplate) myself either and am planning to change it some time. I think I will give the total bar less height, make all icons have same size, so that it becomes a bit more Firefoxy. Another thing I plan to do is make the service pane look like Thunderbirds sidebar, rather then Firefox’s history bar.
I have no idea when I am gonna try this out :-).

Skin doesn’t show content and menus on 0.5pre
Thanks for informing me. This is the same problem as reported on the Goose feather (read my comments there). Again I have reuploaded it with maxversion 0.4, as it simply isn’t possible to have it compatible on both 0.4 and 0.5pre (the skins that don’t use a custom layout can, because they simply use the new type automatically. I must adjust my own file to the new system).
I think the buttons need changing aswell. If you look at the buttons in firefox they are very square. They all clearly fit in a square space and have equal spacing between them. I think maybe the problem with your music player bar is its too thick, and the buttons dont look that square. Also i think maybe a different colour for the backwards and forwards would be better (the same as firefox)
How about this for a more strange idea, as the volume slide bar looks a little out of place remove it and have three square buttons increase decrease and mute.
If you’re done making updates to the 0.4 version, you can upload the 0.5 version (that only allows 0.5) and the site should properly give the right version of your feathers to users based on the version of songbird reported in the user agent.
Do you finally plan to update this for 0.5 ? (I have problems adapting my feather to 0.5 and this could help me a lot)
I will some day update this for 0.5, but not very soon (spending my computer time gaming :P). Updating isn’t very hard though, if you know how to do it. Do you know you can browse the source of Songbird and check what changes have been made between 0.4 and 0.5? Using that on the layout.xul file used with the default look, you can copy changes made there, to your own feather. There are only 3 things or so you have to change, I believe. If you need any help, reply here, or jump into the IRC channel. There probably are people around there (maybe me) who can help you.
Reply to self: I only just find out 0.5rc1 has been released. I guess I will fix it tomorrow or so then…
