Fab extension, would be better with max/min window controls.

Displays the Wikipedia entry from en.wikipedia.org for the artist currently playing in Songbird.
Wikipedia displays in the bottom content pane by default.
Newly compatible with Songbird 0.7.* and 0.8.0pre!
Fab extension, would be better with max/min window controls.
Yeah this is great- would also be a snazzy idea if it also ran an "I'm feeling lucky" Q. automatically with the Song, Artist and "lyrics".
very good extension, only problem is that when reading a longer article about an artist, and a different song (by the same artist) comes on, the page will reload and I have to scroll back down to where I was...
Wont work with the latest build 0.3.1 - can someone please provide a fix?
The latest version has been updated for 0.4 and supports the new display panes. Yay!
can you please make it working on the version 0.5pre please?
Just uploaded a new version that bumps the maxVersion to 0.5pre. Download/install it again please :)
Is there anyway to change the location of the extension? Right now it’s always stuck on the bottom half of the page, which is agrivating when you you have a large library OR the wiki page is big.
I think a more usable interaction would to have it be tabbed. Meaning the library is on the first tab and the second one contains the wikipage.
Possible?
All of the extensions previously owned by ErikStaats is are now by the user Songbird?
Great extension to a great media player. I would love to be able to change from English Wikipedia to the language of my choice, Norwegian.
Great looking extension. I collect a cappella music. 700 cds, approx. 10,000 songs. Over 90 percent of my artists would fail the Wiki notability test (I wrote the wiki people). I would like to create my own wiki using mywiki. I would love to have a way of choosing between the public wiki and mywiki. Otherwise this extension would be quite useless for me.
I meant to say Mediawiki instead of mywiki
Great extension, yes, but I would like to change the lang: I would like to adress fr.wikipedia.org instead of en.wikipedia.org, but i didn’t find where is the url.
Oh please, just a little feature request ;-)
just the same friendly request for a language-switch this time to german
If any of you guys use the Stylish extension, you might be interested in this user style I wrote to get rid of all the chrome and crap from wikipedia’s website so I can view the information easily in a small pane in Songbird.

How do i unhide this? I hid this a couple of days ago, and i don’t know how to unhide it!?
Will this extension work in songbird .5 if we just change the version number in the extension file? Anyone know?
Nevermind, I just needed to uninstall and re-download. For some reason the add-on updater didn’t work for this extension when I upgraded Songbird.
View>Content Pane Bottom> Wikipedia
Select Wikipedia then Click
Thanks for this I’m looking forward to using it a lot.
Need to set maxVersion to 0.7pre
Please add a language selektor

can you update this please!!!!
Update please!!!
hi, its very nice when somebody can write a update to use it with the current version
Wikipedia Extension doesn't work for Songbird 1.1.1, Build 1018 (20090309144748).
Update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whilst the wikipedia bit of MashTape isn't working, it'd be awesome if this was made available to us on 1.1.2 :)
Please update for 1.1!
Update anytime soon?
Does anybody from Songbird actually read these comments?
For me to use Songbird, I need this add-on. I need to input my own artist info, because almost all of my collection is indie artists that won't be found in the regular Wikipedia. I would use a Grease Monkey script to divert Wikipedia to my local Mediawiki.
MashTape seemed encouraging until I saw santimo's comment above, saying the Wikipedia part doesn't work.
Why offer an add-on if you don't keep updating it to work with the latest version of Songbird?
It actually works fine with the newest version of songbird you just need to download the .xpi file extract the install.rdf and open it with a text editor and change "<em:maxversion>0.8.0pre</em:maxversion>" to
<em:maxversion>1.1.2</em:maxversion>
and then of course put it back in the .xpi file
Please make it compatible with 1.2.
Thank you
could you please update this extension, and make it compatible with 1.2, thx.
I have updated a version that works with 1.2, but I have no idea how to upload this version so I will explain how to make your own
first, download the last version of this add-on (0.8) and save it on your desktop
open it (it is a .xpi but some softwares can decompres it (like ark for linux users)
open the file install.rdf with a text editor (I use kate on linux, I beleive wordpad for windows would work)
modify the version to 1.2 AND the max version to something above 1.2
save back the file into the compress .xpi
install from the add-on manager
in fact this solution works for a lots of add-on if there was no change in the code as this add-on will show
reup
new version available on http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addon/1726
